What if you have 30 hours but you want them to see your grades from this semester? Can you send the transcript in around May?

If you have over 30 hours, they make your decision based on the work you have completed so far. They won’t look at your May grades because you will have already gotten a decision by then.

Can’t you send in the transcript later anyways?

You are required to send in a spring transcript after you’ve been admitted so they can see which classes you took and how many credit hours you have after the spring semester. But it won’t affect your admission decision, your admission decision will be based on the 30 hours you had when you submitted your application.

I guess I should clarify my question a bit more. Are you required to send in your transcript if you have 30 hours before the end of the semester or can you wait until the end of the semester to send in your transcript?

The deadline is March 1st. You must send in the most current transcript by then, which is going to include this year’s fall grades, but not the spring grades. Have you already uploaded your transcript on UT Direct? If then it should say that your application is complete. They are not going to consider your spring grades. They only consider spring grades for those who do not have 30 hours yet, like me. On my UT Direct it says

Your application for transfer admission is complete except for the required 30 semester hours of transfer coursework.
We will make your admission decision after we receive your final official transcript showing the remainder of your required coursework.

Submit your final official transcript as soon as your grades for the current semester have been posted. Your transcript must arrive no later than June 1.

I haven’t uploaded my transcript yet. I thought it would be ok since I only have 30 hours due to AP credits. This definitely worries me now. I guess I will talk to admissions tomorrow. Just out of curiosity,

if that’s the case, then how do people who have applied before and got rejected try to reapply if they can’t show an improvement in their grades?

I’m not too sure about reapplying. I have heard that you can appeal decisions. But I would definitely recommend you upload your transcript as soon as possible. 30 hours is 30 hours regardless of whether it’s from AP Credits or not. Even if you don’t have 30 hours, you must upload your most recent transcript by March 1st. Good luck. Wish me luck too :)

for the transcript, are we just supposed to upload a scanned copy?

I’m not too sure about that. I would give them a call tomorrow to make sure if a scanned copy is acceptable or not. For my transcript, I requested a pdf version from my school (UTD), paid 10 dollars and downloaded an official PDF copy. It has a certificate of authenticity attached to it.

cool, i didnt see an option for a PDF version from my school. im going to my admissions person tomorrow and ill ask. thanks

A question here…
what are the odds of a student from a California Community College being accepted to UT?

Does anyone know if Essay topic E is required or not? In the UT transfer page it says its preferred, but on the Applytexas its listed as required, so which one is it? I’ve only done the SOP and topic C.

does anyone know what’s the average external transfer acceptance gpa is (minus the cap students)?

This is so nerve wrecking.

Oh wow I clearly was misinformed. I thought you just send in your transcript at the end of the semester if you want them to review your grades for this semester. Now, I don’t even know if I want to apply.

Anyone go to a community college where you can send your transcripts to your desired school electronically? I did this and it’s been two days and UT has not received my transcript yet! Just getting worried.

lovechickfila, don’t be worried. it should be there really soon. mine took about 5 days i believe.

does anyone know if there is a scholarship application?

I don’t think there is one.
