Subjective:

Essays: My common app was alright - I changed a lot of things after I submitted and I think it’s much better now, but I guess it was decent enough to begin with. I liked my USC supplements. They were pretty last minute, but very honest. I’m passionate about my major which helped. I didn’t take the short answers very seriously, which I regretted, but it worked apparently.
Teacher Recs: 7/10 for both. Pretty good.
Counselor Rec: Didn’t read but we have a good relationship so I’m assuming it was good.

Other Factors, hook?: Sort of first generation college student, depending on your definition. Parents both attending college for a few semesters but never graduated. Not much besides that though.

General Comments, scholarship chances, status info, going to USC…?: Presidential Finalist. I’m really surprised, I wasn’t expecting anything. I saw people saying they saw on the portal or received their packet already so I figured I had no chance. Checked the mail just to be sure, almost had a heart attack when I saw the fat USC packet. Finally feeling like the hard work has paid off!
