Fall 2015 Applied/Accepted Thread!

Well Said @kittenfarts‌

Thanks for the answer! I myself am a minority, so I’m not sure what that makes of your “subtle” jab. Although, it seems I struck a nerve. Is there anything you’d like to talk about/get off of your chest? I’m here for you

Aww… I’m sorry if you took offense to my post, or if you thought I was getting personal with you. I just thought I was doing you a favor by providing you with information to the best of my knowledge, information you asked about multiple times with your preoccupation of “ghettoness” and “diversity.” And you’re welcome :)

I didn’t and honestly your post was the most helpful. If I could give you a sort rep point I would. I looked up Pomona and I like how its evenly split. I just didn’t want to experience a culture shock like I did at Irvine. Thanks for your help

My son just received an e-mail regarding the Kellogg Honors College invitation. Is that a good sign that he will be admiited? It sounds good but then it says:
Please Note: This letter is an invitation to apply to the Kellogg Honors College and attend the Showcase of Excellence event. Your admission to Cal Poly Pomona is determined by the Office of Admissions and Outreach.

@201517‌ I just received the same email. I think its just to encourage people with higher stats to consider Poly as a first option.

Both sons received the Honors invitation and were accepted in January. It is a very good sign…

Did anyone receive a Welcome letter from their department ?

@Gumbymom Around what time in January?

@greenteagirl1997‌: Around the 3rd week in January if I remember correctly.

@Gumbymom Ok, Thank you!

Hi, my son just got an invitation to apply for Kellogg Honors College. The letter said the minimum requirement is unweighted high school GPA 3.5 and above. We will check it out at the Show case of Excellence in Jan 2015 but in the mean time I need advice if this requirement includes unweighted 12 th grade GPA. He is taking 3 more AP classes this year and I am scared. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and good luck to all of you!

Hi, my son received the invitation to apply to the Kellogg Honors college back on 12/19/14. He received a reminder today about it. He has not RSVP’d yet because he has not been accepted to the college. His account still shows application incomplete and Ready for Decision. I know Gumbymom mentioned that they should be notified about the third week of January, but do you think they will do it before the RSVP deadline of 1/22? Seems like no one will want to take the time to complete the application for the Kellogg Honors College if they are not guaranteed to be admitted. Thanks

@210507: If you son received in Honors college invite, he is admitted (no offically). Both my sons got the invite and were subsequently admitted. Check the portal first. Usually the notification will show up in the portal before you receive the email for the acceptance.

Major: Hospitality
Transfer student from Pasadena City College
GPA: 3.43

Does anyone know when they will start to request transcript for transfer students?

is anyone going to the Kellogg Honors Showcase this year? And has anyone gone in prior years? Is it worth going?

Major: Business Administration - FRL
Transfer from Citrus College
GPA: 2.73
Status: Ready for decision

I applied last year with a 2.66 GPA and got accepted. I couldn’t go because I didn’t finish the math for the golden 4. Otherwise I could’ve gone. I’m hoping this year I’ll get accepted with the higher GPA since it’s the same credentials.

Major: Geography
Transfer from San Bernardino Valley College
GPA: 3.82
Status: Ready for decision

I really can’t wait for acceptances to start going out! I hope they come out early this year. I want to apply for housing already  I’m rooting for all of us!!
