Fall 2015 fraternity rush

Can anyone speak to rankings and what the different fraternities are like after all of the different mergers and just to update old ones?

I’ll repost what I posted a month or two ago:

  1. Phi Psi Considered the best on campus. The guys are laid back, can talk to girls, and play a lot of beer pong. Throw a pretty awesome tailgate. The only downside is that their actual house is tiny, so they throw most of their parties at satellite houses.
  2. Theta Chi A frat with a great reputation and house all over campus. Most kids are east coast who enjoy weed and other hard drugs. They are a very “cool” frat. Most girls like them a lot. Throw one of the best tailgates if not the best, and also threw a huge st. pattys day darty.
  3. Pike A frat that cares about getting girls. Spend most of their time on parties. They don’t really have brotherhood and take a lot of kids. If you’re a good looking kid, you will get a bid. They throw great tailgates and also host Winterfest with Alpha sig. House is the best party house on campus but is disgusting for anything other than parties. Got in trouble on ski trip but will be fine in the fall.
  4. Fiji Have a big house right next to Pike. Kids are mostly athletic kids in high school who also can party. They have a solid brotherhood and are mostly lax-bros. Their tailgates are okay but not great and this year their fall 2014 pledge class was considered one of the worst on campus. A lot is riding on their next pledge class.
  5. Aepi Jewish kids who didn’t want to do an off campus frat. They have a big house near Oxford. Most kids are extremely rich and they often take girls out to dinner and pay for it. Pledge class is the biggest on campus so the PC is often cliquey. Their tailgates are decent. Top jewish frat.
  6. SigEp A bunch of above average white guys who probably played sports in high school but not in College. Other fraternities think they're tools but they're pretty well liked by most girls. Got in a lot of trouble for hazing this past fall, which carried over into this spring. Looks like they will be okay without too serious of consequences. Throw one of the best tailgates on campus.
  7. Alpha Sig Very close to sig ep, they made a lot of headway this year with sororities. Mix of jewish and non-jewish guys who cling pretty hard to Skrappa, but they do mix with some of the better sororities. Known for putting on Winterfest and doing some hard drugs.
  8. Chi Psi Preppy mix of in-staters and out of staters. Some of the upperclassmen were kinda weird but girls really like their freshman and sophomores. Have one of the best kept houses on the inside. Mix with a wide range of sororities and smoke a lot of weed. Like Pike, got in trouble on ski trip but will be clear in the fall. Throw the best tailgate on State St hands down.
  9. Phi Delt "Nice guys" is how most girls would describe them. Have a dry house but they still throw occasional parties, which are okay but not great. Well liked by a lot of middle tier sororities. Probably the nicest house on campus. Not much else to say.
  10. Chi Phi Known almost exclusively for their late nights. Pretty much the opposite of Phi Delt, girls go here to drink and not much else. Unfortunately lost their pregame partner this year. The best thing they have going for them is their house, which has a pretty nice basement for parties. Could be put above Phi Delt depending on who you ask. Give out a lot of bids so guys are a pretty diverse group.

The rest are very hard to put in any order. There’s a ton of fraternities but the ten above are the ones most known around campus that are most competitive for bids. 1-5 are pretty interchangeable, as are 6-8. After that there’s a decent drop off to Phi Delt and Chi Phi. But with rush getting more competitive recently, any of the top ten fraternities on here are a great place to be

Off Campus Frats Worth Noting:

SAE
This is a frat that was kicked off campus because of their hazing. They have a badass reputation and most of their guys are huge. They mix with the top tier sororities when they can, which isn’t often because the sororities get in trouble if they get caught. They host the mud bowl every year, which is one of the best events on campus. Have one of the biggest houses on campus. Attempted to get re-recognized by the school this year but failed. Well liked by most girls who go there.

Sammy (THEOS)
Got kicked off campus this year for destroying their resort on ski trip. Until then, they were considered the second best Jewish house on campus behind AEPi, mixing with some jewish and non jewish sororities. Completely tarnished every members reputation on ski trip and have yet to pay off the damages, so it’s hard to say what will happen to them next year.
