Fall 2015 Transfer Decision Date

Have any transfer applicants heard back yet? My application status still says ready for review-- any idea as to when I can expect to receive a decision?

My son just got in last Wednesday. He’s a Freshman, and will transfer with 34 units. Good luck!

Thank you, and congratulations to your son!

@uscjer Would you mind telling me whether he received the decision through the mail or on the MySanDiego online portal?

Through the portal on Wednesday, and then in the mail a few days later (I think on Saturday).

@uscjer Did your sons application status on his portal change from completed to admitted?

@fland18 I was admitted two weeks ago (I think it was on a Wednesday). They updated my portal so that there was a option to click “admitted” under “announcements” and “applicant” when you hover over the admissions tab. I never received an email or anything telling me that it had been updated. The application status still says committee review. I believe something came in the mail a few days later but I’m at school on the east coast right now and my parents received it so I don’t have too many details on that. Hope that helps! Good luck if you’re still waiting on a decision!

@fland18 I never had access to his portal until he was admitted, lol. I didn’t want access! I didn’t think he’d find out until after his spring grades, anyway. He just asked me to take a look at the portal when he thought he’d been admitted. Transfur described what it looked like…more of a “now that you’ve been admitted…” page, so it threw him off because he’d expected an e-mail.

@tranzfur If I could ask, did stuff move around on your welcome page? I just looked at my portal and things were rearranged.

@fland18 nothing moved around on my welcome page after I was accepted but I just logged on today and the format of the page is different.

I was admitted today through my portal!

@fland18 Congrats! Did they email you as well?

@hopefulzuner No email or anything just a new tab in my portal that says “Admitted”. Are you still waiting for a decision?

@fland18 Yea unfortunately. I’m a rising sophomore and I read on their website they needed my 2nd semester grades sent in before they can make a decision. It’ll come eventually.

@hopefulzuner I’m going in as a sophomore also. Good luck on waiting for a decision!

@hopefulzuner are you still waiting? I found out today on my portal and I’m pretty excited. @fland18 Have you committed? And thanks for the portal heads up. (I never would’ve checked all my portals if it weren’t for the info on these boards.)

@sabu15 Yep. Just checked and my application is still “ready for review.” Transferring is such a frustrating process

@hopefulzuner My application actually still said that after (now it says “Committee Review”), but it’s the “Admitted” tab that is new. Check again and see if you have that? And yeah I agree. Transferring is not just frustrating, but confusing as well. I kid you not, I am going to write a book about it because there are SO many things no one told me that I wish I knew. My CC also had limited experience with transferring to private schools other than USC, so I always went directly to the universities’ counselors and articulation advisers. Where are you transferring from/what’s your major/where is USD on your choice list?

@sabu15 I’m on the same boat as you. My CC didn’t know much more about the transferring process than I did going in. I was at Indiana University and it didn’t work out for a lot of reasons. As of now my choice is between University of Richmond and San Diego with a dark-horse candidate Northwestern. Believe me I know I’m all over the place. Trying to major in Business Economics and Marketing. I would like to have the choice between San Diego and Richmond but even if I don’t I’d be happy to attend Richmond. What are you deciding between?

@hopefulzuner those are all very good schools! I’m not too familiar with Richmond, but Northwestern and USD have excellent business schools (I’m a Marketing major). I still haven’t gotten an acceptance email from USD and it’s been almost a week since my status changed to admitted…so just keep checking your portal a couple times a day. I’m deciding between USD, LMU, USF, and potentially Santa Clara. LMU is my top choice, but it will likely come down to FA.
