Anyone else looking for housing and/or roommates off campus for the Fall semester??
Super excited at getting accepted, but now the reality of probably living off campus for a semester
or two is starting to set-in. Anyone else looking?? My parents drove out to ND this weekend and
looked into a few places and discovered some bad, some good. Would love to have neighbors or
even roommates that are also experiencing ND for the first time. Please respond with any ideas,
and maybe we can help each other dig through this “fun” part of our new adventure.
Available rooms will go quickly now.
University Edge is very nice, but kinda pricey if in a single. Good bus service to campus. Easily bike-able. Walking works too but will take a few minutes. No grocery store nearby.
The places east of campus are likewise nice, a tad closer, close to Martin’s grocery store too.
Thank you so much for the ideas NDgradNDdad. My parents did have University Edge on their itinerary, and they had some nice things to say about it. Am hoping to make a decision soon to avoid the stress of leaving this to the last moment. I do understand that living on campus this semester is a long-shot, but one can still dream!! Once the department of housing decides on the lucky few who make the cut off the waiting list, I will have to make a decision on where to live. Thanks again for taking the time to send me some advice.
Just got email…put on waitinglist for housing, hopefully I can ultimately get on campus, but starting to explore possibility of living off campus
@tiguere2k15 did you mean put on a waiting list for on campus housing or an apartment elsewhere?
Hi everyone… I was really blessed to be lucky enough to receive on campus housing through the transfer lottery yesterday. My parents and I did a lot of research and visits previous to this news, and I would highly recommend University Edge if any spots are still available. I was ready to book a room with them before I heard from ND Housing.
@JSully221 For campus housing.
@Irishgirl2323 and @tiguere2k15 I didn’t apply for housing for this semester, its a a long story. I’m probably going to for next semester. How does it work exactly? Do you think its too late to ask for it for this semester?
Im sure you could apply, though with there already being a waitlist, I would say that it is highly unlikely that you would make it on campus for the fall semester. You could, however, apply and then live OC for fall semester while on the waiting list in the hopes of getting on campus housing for the S16 semester.
I would fill out the housing application as soon as possible. I know that a lot of students study abroad during the spring semester, so extra spots will be opening up then. A waitlist is already in place for the remainder of this semester, so I would get your name on the list ASAP.
Hey y’all, I was admitted to A&L and am 29th on the waitlist, so anyone looking for a roommate at an apartment shoot me a message!
Thanks @Irishgirl2323 @tiguere2k15 thats what I kind of figured. Does anyone know how far off the wait list they usually go for first semester?
Hi guys, I was 27th on the waitlist, male, if anyone looking for a roommate please contact me! thanks!
@JSully221 It said in the email that they usually take 10-20 or something like that, but it didnt specify if that was collectively or by gender. Oh well, another waiting game i suppose
I’m not sure if this helps or not, but my daughter was #78 on the waiting list for Fall of 2014 and she found out the week before move-in that she had been placed in on-campus housing. We thankfully hadn’t signed a lease.
Hi all, I just wanted to let you know that ND has a surplus of male housing for this coming fall semester. Housing told my friend that there are a lot of extra spaces in the male dorms. So if you’re on the waitlist and a boy, it’s probably likely you will get a room! Not promising anything, but I thought this information might be useful.
do you have roommate yet? I am looking for one contact me
