Are there any others out there who browse this forum who applied for Fall 2015 transfer? Have you heard anything back yet?
Yeah, I just received my acceptance mailer today.
Well, I didn’t receive an acceptance letter, but I did receive an email from student services today asking me to send them a course syllabus from a previous class in order for them to articulate the credits properly, or the credits would be transferred as electives. I’m hoping it’s a good sign. Hopefully, I’ll see a decision in writing soon. And congrats to you on your acceptance!
@Southerngent - can I ask how long it took from when you submitted your application to when you received your acceptance? My daughter applied around March 1st. Just trying to get an idea of how long her wait will be.
Thanks.
They said it takes 4-6 weeks once everything has been submitted for transfers.
@fallschurchmom read above comment, sorry, I forgot to tag you in the post.
@fallschurchmom - The online prospective student portal says they received my last transcript on 2/3/2014 and my application was sent in around mid January. I still haven’t received an official decision. I’m dead in the middle of that 4-6 week time frame, so I’m hoping to hear something soon.
Appreciate the information! Good luck to all!
Just received my acceptance package to the Kogod School of Business! Sending in my enrollment agreement today. Hope to see you guys on campus!
Anyone accepted to UMich? I want to learn the experience
Hey all! I’m a hopeful AU transfer. I applied into the School of International Service. I currently attend a large state school and am a freshman. Here are my stats
Highschool:
-GPA: (from what I remember) around a 3.7 (I was top 18% of my class and primarily took honors and AP courses)
-Leadership positions: Student Body President, NHS Treasurer, Speech and Debate Co-President (also a captain for 3 years), Co-founder and VP of French Club
-ACT: 30
-Activities: Speech and Debate (all four years), student council (all four years), NHS (sophomore-senior year), French Club (junior-senior year), theatre (junior-senior year)
-Honors: two time speech and debate state finalist, speech and debate national octafinalist, district champion in speech and debate, Glory of Missouri Award recipient, school pride award recipient
My Common App essay talks about my experiences growing up as an Arab-American in a post-9/11 world and how I’ve used my negative experiences to help shape me as an individual and were influential in my social activism and involvement in my community.
College:
-GPA: 3.8
-Activities: Student government, leadership program, social justice clubs/orgs (I won’t name them since they have my university’s name in them).
-I’ve been heavily involved in speaking out on social justice issues that have risen on campus, nation wide, and globally. Several articles have been published quoting my statements and activism.
Hey all! I submitted my application on March 1st, and received my acceptance letter on March 14th.
anyone know when we will be getting our financial aid packages??
I was told mid-may. UGH
I applied April 7th, and hope I hear
back soon! Good luck to all.
i only got 15k in scholarships. I have a 3.92 cumulative GPA, my mom is a single parent and we have low family income. Its a shame how these filthy rich schools dish out money from students.
What makes you think AU is “filthy rich”? Do you think the school is just hoarding scholarship money for no reason? I’m sorry you didn’t get enough to attend, but a $15K grant for a transfer student is nothing to sneeze at. I hope you have an affordable alternative.
Hey everyone! I hope to have my decision made up by the end of this week. I am between here and Tulane if anyone has any input. If I attend American next year I hope to see all of you on campus! -Paul
Hi guys I don’t know if this is a live discussion anymore but I had a question. How did you get the news that you were accepted? Like packet in the mail/ email? I’m asking because yesterday I got an email randomly congratulating me on my acceptance and asking me to register for a transfer student webinar. The thing is I haven’t gotten any acceptance letters in the mail or in the portal. I practically screamed when I got the email but I don’t want to get my hopes up haha
I got both an email and a letter in the mail though I applied as a incoming freshman and not a transfer. You might get a letter later depending on how far away you live from American. If a letter doesn’t come in a week or two I would just email/call the admissions office to confirm whether you got accepted or not.
