Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Forgot to add “Upward Trend”, not a single transferable B since my 1st semester, if that matters.

@JustinUC‌

If you can complete all of the pre-reqs for your major by the end of this Fall(Or Winter of 2015. UCLA does take winter class grades into consideration), I think you’ll have a good chance of getting in.

@Cayton whew, nice to know, gracias. Pre-reqs & IGETC will both be done this Fall and I don’t see myself dropping below a 3.8 for the tau when it comes around.

What @cayton said. Try to get A’s in both Prereqs, but I think you’re solid as long as your PS is good.

@JustinUC‌ You are, of course, only posting in this thread because there isn’t a Berkeley thread right?

@JustinUC‌

I think you have a solid chance for UCLA. I’m assuming you’re also applying to Berkeley? It has one of the top sociology programs in the nation :P

UCLA is still good at @ocnative. I would compare it to Plenty of fish and Tinder. Berkeley is Tinder and UCLA is Plenty of Fish; they both get the job done, but tinder will get you laid the most.

@JewBacca‌

Considering how much more attractive the student body at UCLA is said to be, you might want to use a different analogy, @JewBacca. :)

You think you’re gonna get laid more at Berkeley? hahahahahahahahaha [-O<

@Lindyk8 went to Berkeley, so she knows how unattractive the guys and gals are there. B-)

no sh*t.

I like being a big fish in a small pound, plus the city is right there :wink: LMAO… But it was just a funny comparison regarding the prestige of the schools, not how “hot” people are haha. Anyway, I was just kidding hehehehehe ;))

@JewBacca‌

We all know how much you love Berkeley. :P

Maybe I should add in that it is a perceived prestige and maybe not factual ;)

@JewBacca‌

Well, it can’t be denied that Berkeley is somewhat more prestigious than UCLA. Still, California is lucky to have two flagship campuses that blow most other state flagship schools out of the water. In my opinion, the University of Michigan is the only state flagship that can compare to Berkeley and UCLA.

Is there any way to remove notifications for this thread? I started it and I get a notify every time someone responds. Thanks. :)

You can change notification settings by clicking on the preferences link in the upper-right hand corner of this page.

hahaha, I’m not even playing along but you’re right @calbro @ocnative‌

hope its not some shocking betrayal to Bruins here by admitting that Berkeley is my #1 and that I kinda am “only posting in this thread because there isn’t a Berkeley thread” hehe

@calbro @ocnative
btw am still deciding on Media Studies or Sociology for Cal, I have most prereqs done for Media but I may just apply for Sociology because I assume its easier to get accepted since its not ‘capped’; would you guys suggest that and do you know if I can switch into Media Studies?

@JustinUC‌ The undergraduate advisors seem like they’re definitely willing to work with you, even if the major you want to double is capped. However, you can’t be officially declared for your second major until your first semester is over. Keep doing what you’re doing.
