Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Good luck to all those have applied to UCLA. I was admitted last year around this time in April. I was fairly confident I was going to get in, solid GPA(3.83, history major), my essay was approved by a former English professor. So when I got in, I was like great, but it was still felt really good knowing that it was official.

I remember you last year @Tik1127‌. I hope you’re enjoying UCLA.

@lindyk8‌

So far so good, thank you. Those all night papers are always fun. However, the satisfaction of getting an A is worth it. You work slightly harder than you would in JC days but in a strange way, its a rush for me.

By the way, what is TAP? Transfer Academic Planner? Why is this important?
:">

Woa Finally see someone applying for Biochem like i do lol

TAP can mean the planner (which is used to submit a TAG, and is also useful in organizing), but it is also the acronym for UCLA’s Transfer Alliance Program @twinflower‌

Hey guys, anyone noticed that the TAU(transfer academic update) was extended until April 1? After I sent UCLA my message, they replied telling me to write in my student comment session as the TAU was extended to April 1

Hey everyone!! I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not UCLA had transfer dorms? This is something I’m highly taking into consideration before I transfer as I do not particularly want to be living with a bunch of freshmen.

^not sure, but that area is great, and I’d personally much rather find a roommate off of craigslist if you’re already in your twenties (guessing since you’re transferring).

@marikasylvianne…yes they do offer housing just for transfers! Here’s a link…https://reslife.ucla.edu/theme/transfer
My daughter will be a junior living in the transfer housing if she is accepted. After being at UCLA last weekend she felt it was the best way to get situated that first year. She is at a UC now, but it is vastly different that UCLA and she feels she’ll make more friends if she’s rooming with other transfers, while adjusting to the campus together.

This year, transfers seemed to be all over the place, different dorms, etc. Have not heard if there were any assignments of transfers with freshmen - I doubt that happened.

That’s weird about the TAU thing, I wonder why they extended the deadline…

I have no clue why either but they replied to my message saying they extend it and to mention my message in student comment section lol

That was from UCLA specifically btw

Anybody read this article before? http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/ucla-receives-record-number-of-applications-for-2015

over 20000 transfer students applied…3.7% increased from last year. Not surprising but seems like admission rates for impacted majors are going to lower to some degrees.

Damn I hope to get in. I applied under European Studies major, I got a 3.48 from Santa Monica College, I’m done with my IGETC

Does anyone know if UCLA will post an official date on their website for when they’ll release admission decisions?

For Freshmen, they posted and official date about 8 days before the actual date of release. So we can probably expect the same to happen for the transfer decisions!

Does anyone know when notifications to apply for Regents Scholarship come out? According to last years thread people received them around 3/29-3/31.
