Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

UCLA is my top choice so I want to find out as soon as possible XD This wait has been killing me already.

I just received a call from admissions, clarifying some of my course history
 Is this a good sign or just a formality?

Since it’s a week away, we can ascertain you’re not in the reject pile. Since they want verification, I would say a good sign.

It’s LOST DAY! Maybe something good will happen.

Hurley’s mysterious winning lottery numbers — 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

If you line up the numbers, they add up to TODAY: April 8, 2015, at 4:23:42 p.m. (military time) :smiley:

Lol, I got all excited when I saw an email that said UCLA in my inbox this morning. I thought maybe I was invited into the regents thing again, but it was just them telling me that it was too late and they wouldn’t consider the two major prep courses I completed last Friday :-\

@lindyk8 omg that’s awesome

@81Mamba‌

That seems rather arbitrary. Last year, when I applied, they didn’t release the date of admission notification(It was April 18th last year) until about 2 or 3 days before, as I recall. UCLA never commits to a date to release them until right before they want to release them, it seems. Maybe they’ll do things differently this year, but I wouldn’t count on it.

It should also be noted that they’ve historically released their decisions about a week or so before UC Berkeley does for transfer students; last year Cal released decisions on April 25th, exactly a week after UCLA did
 This year, it’s April 24th for Berkeley, so I’d expect UCLA to release decisions on or around April 17th.

So I think everyone here should mark April 17th on their calendars, just in case.

@fncrane, someone said it was helpful!!! PRIDE
 :wink:

@Cayton Great info! I only had the data from this year so I just went off of that! But that’s interesting to hear they only released it 2 or 3 days before last year
 dang

Well @humbleteen sent me a msg that regents invites are coming out around the 20th, so I called UCLA too, and was told they’re coming out AFTER acceptance notices this year. So, assuming humble is right with the 20th, then admit notices are probably on target for the 17th. Last year they came out about an hour earlier than the time slot given out.

Is early start summer school offered for transfer students? I know it is for high school students?

I’m curious too @LuckyName , if you find out, will you PM me?

I don’t know what it’s called, but there are 1 or 2 Summer programs for transfers. Be careful though because I’ve heard from several people the workload was difficult and it messed up their gpa.

@luckyname Summer session is open for everyone, that including HS student, other UC students, non-UC students, and UCLA students.

I have a friend who took summer session, you don’t have to wait till Fall, you can start earlier.

Summer sessions are different - those are for current students in between school years.

Not sure if this is what you’re referring to but: http://www.ugeducation.ucla.edu/aap/programs/newstudents/ftsp/

^That program is 4 years old?

I think we can take summer classes though, just as regular students, not as part of a program

oops didn’t see the dates

I like how the thread really grows much more rapidly as it gets closer to the “D-Day” Lol

Yes you can take summer classes that aren’t part of a specific program. There are also summer programs. If admitted they’ll senf you all the info.
