Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Thanks @2016Candles ! How is your Spring quarter going?

@persianstudent7 Your stats look really good! I’m just wondering, but are you from IVC?

@slee25 yes lol.

so do you guys know what time ucla usually posts admissions?

Freshman was in the evening, so I’d guess around that time.

They will prob say 5, although last year they posted earlier than the assigned time, around 4.

@trnsfrstdnt they usually post around 5:00 PM

darn im going to be spending my whole day just thinking about the admissions!

Spring Quarter is rough only because you’re sooooo fatigued from Fall and Winter. Plus I have a major case of Senioritis! But it’s ok - only week 2, but only 8 more weeks to go.

The quarter system has many advantages. However it also requires you to be very focused all the time.

Yeah, Spring quarter stinks. My professors are already boring me to death. But whatever, I only got courses Tuesday and Thursday. Fall quarter I was going to school 4 days a week, Spring 3, now down to 2. I am a commuter.

Is anyone else on spring break next week?

@apocalypsoā€Œ I’m on spring break right now. It’s funny, my friends at Oxy had spring break like the first week of March.

@zettasyntaxā€Œ , man, that’s early! I think I’m the last of my friends to go on break. I guess at least you’ll have something to keep your mind occupied while waiting for UCLA. :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:

(Edited because I have butterfingers and am on mobile, so it posted early.)

i am ready to be a bruin already [-O<

Can someone chance me?
Major : Business Economics
GPA: 3.83

Prereqs: I’m taking two required classes this spring and I took one over winter which I got an A in but they don’t know that unfortunately.

Essays: one about how my father owning his business inspired me to go into business and how being a supervisor at best buy has taught me many business and leadership skills. The second is about how I discovered I was a leader and how anyone has the potential to be a leader.

EC: I volunteer for the Hugh OBrian youth leadership foundation, and the rest are all from high school (such as nhs president, valedictorian, student of the year, asb, and more) im not really involved on campus because I live 30 min away and work full time.

The only thing I’m worried about is my GPA is low because I got a c first semester in anthropology but I’ve gotten an a in every other class. Would they care that I got a c in that class? And also it’s been really tough for me to get classes like last fall I only had 6 units. Will not having a full workload hurt me since I’ve only completed 4 semesters?

Thanks in advance!

@nickfadā€Œ Business econ major here. I think you have a very strong chance. Your GPA is about .11 lower than the average (3.94) accepted for Biz-econ. However, your supervisory position @ full-time has to count for something. The C will definitely be considered, but that class is not major prep, so your major prep GPA is a 4.0, which is very good of course. As long as you will have IGETC completed and all major prep completed, I think you have a decent shot. Only thing is, that when people get in with a GPA like yours they seem to have TAP. Question though, how are you managing to complete all IGETC and major prep in 4 semesters with one semester containing only 6 units? Are you in calc 2 right now?

Yeah I’m in calc 2 now and I took two summer classes and a winter class and I had 12 units from ap credits

Guys… I have GREAT news. The STOMP conference on April 24th has a workshop for ADMITTED STUDENTS. Now, why would they have that there if they weren’t planning on admitting any students before then? WE ARE FINDING OUT BEFORE THE 24TH… most of us.

@salmanthgr8 for freshman? lol

@LuckyName, I was wondering the same thing, but STOMP is only for transfer students.
