Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Hey! I have been reading through this thread and it has made me want to join this site and get involved.

Will someone chance me?

GPA: 4.0
IGETC completed, but my school won’t let me certify until I have an acceptance letter
Transferable units: 68.7 (2.7 from AP)
AP Tests: 5 on AP Psychology
Pre Reqs: Completed through Assist.org
Major: Psychology
ECs: Intern for a Law office dealing with Political Asylum Cases, Intern for a Domestic Violence non-profit, year-round Lifeguard, Year-round swim instructor
Extra considerations: High school extracurriculars and community service
Essays: I had teachers and some other UC students revise them, including my older sister (a UCLA alum). I really elaborated on my internships and how it relates to my major and then my struggles dealing with community college and transferring.

Applied;UCLA, UCB, UCSB
Accepted; UCSB (haven’t heard from UCLA or UCB yet)

@Salmanthgr8 wait are you sure there is a workshop for ADMITTED transfer students? Just wanted to check because it seems it is mostly for prospective transfer students. Definitely hoping there is one for admitted students though haha

@award344 If you do not get in that would be very surprising.Probably guaranteed acceptance.

Thank you @Sustenance! Do any of you know if UCLA will give scholarship money to incoming students with alumni family?

Also for the STOMP conference, it says to register by April 22nd. So doesn’t that mean we should definitely find out at least a few days before then? I think decisions will come out on the 17th.

@award344 isn’t STOMP conference for students trying to transfer into UCLA? not for us that have already applied?

^^^^ yeah to all the posters regarding the STOMP. Just curious as to How is it relevant to us incoming transfers?

Guys, STOMP has nothing to do with us, it’s for CC students considering transferring, as in, those applying for next year, not this Fall. There is no relation between stomp’s date and admissions date for us.

Guys,
Calm down people. Don’t clutch at straws and draw random conclusions. I know it is a stressful time, but we will get through it.
Fullload is right. STOMP is for future applicants.

I just saw that it was for past transfer students to help future transfer students. I am unclear whether or not it is for those of us transferring now or future transfers.

There was a Ucla rep at my cc earlier today. I’m pretty sure she stated that STOMP is designed for newly admitted students to learn more about the transferring process.

Have any of you visited the transfer dorms?

All i know is if I succesfully TRANSFERRED to a school I would not need any more information on how to TRANSFER to that school.

One more time. It’s for prospective CC students looking to transfer in Fall 2016, not Fall 2015. I dont know how to be any more clear than that.

@award344 I have visited one of them, I think it was the Gardenia or the Hedrick, I confuse all the names, but I know it was the deluxe type, double. It was really nice.

If you register for the STOMP Conference online (http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/stompconference/default.htm), there is a section that asks, “What workshops are you most interested in attending?”

Under “Session One” there is a workshop titled “Newly Admitted Students.”

So, it does appear that the STOMP Conference can be useful for newly admitted transfer students to attend. It’s also taking place on the 24th, so it can be assumed that admissions decisions will have come out beforehand, or on that day. I’ve registered to attend, and plan on going if I am accepted so that I can check out the school and make sure that it is the right fit for me.

@gdkane awesome! Thanks for that haha Definitely would make some more sense now lol

If anyone goes to that, would you be willing to report back here?

I’m working and cannot attend :((

The STOMP conference is for everyone… Not just next years applicants… There is a workshop for newly admitted students. Just go to the link gdkane posted and try signing up

Thx for sorting out the confusion @jdkane. It seems like a good transitional group.
