Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

I just looked at that link. I’m not seeing newly admitted transfers anywhere on that. It seems 100% geared toward CCC students starting out, as @fullload said.

@lindyk8 , you need to go to student registration to see the sessions. It seems to have information for both CCC students just starting out and those who have already applied. Here is the link:

Oh, I see. It does seem to have some intermix. Thx @apocalypso.
Although for what it’s worth, I think the newly admitted student line is about newbies to CCC since it’s wedged above high school students and below CCC students with completed units.

But it looks like there are other possible things. If it’s a long drive you might want to get more info.

@lindyk8 I went to the Conference last year and that workshop was for admitted students. I know this because friend of mine got accepted and got free stuff from that workshop

I have it on very good authority that UCLA Transfer decisions are being posted on April 17th.

@rileyc21 From who??

A little birdie told me

I know it’s already been posted here but I wanted to confirm those who were on the right track!

I think guys here are making educated guesses based on last few years threads on CC. Maybe, some have heard from a counselor or admissions officer. Either way, it does not matter. We will know in a week or two.
My gut feeling is we will know around 17th April.
Let us see.

What would be a good GPA to get into European studies ?
Also, will they email us to say that our admissions status has been updated or do we have to check the UCLA Portal all the time ?

@LePure Average admitted GPA for European Studies was 3.46 last year, although to be truly competitive you should be a bit higher.

@LePure the admission rate for specifically European Studies last year was 75% (9 people out of 12 got in) with the average GPA of 3.46
From what I remember, you will get an email. But I would check the UCLA Portal around 5pm on the 17th.

Shoot I have a 3.5 I’m afraid to be borderline :-/

Last year I got the acceptance email several hours after the portal was updated, so on “the day”, you’ll definitely want to check your portal, rather than waiting for an email. Also if I remember correctly, they let us know the specific time to check decisions. Not that it will keep you from checking incessantly before that, but just FYI.

Each UC does it a bit differently. For UCI and UCSD I got the acceptance email 1-2 days after the portal was updated…
I checked the portal as soon as I knew acceptances were coming in.
For example, for UCSD I checked the portal at 12:20 PM on 03.13.2015 and I saw that I was accepted. But, I got the email the next day.

Agree with @2016candles don’t rely on emails!

@LePure you sound more than qualified. B-)

I applied for Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, Alternate major: Cognitive science

GPA: 3.71
IGETC: Yes
TAP: Yes
EC: AGS honor society, 200+ volunteer hours, Chemistry Club officer
Personal Statement: Meh… 7/10
Prereqs: Missing o chem for first choice major
Applied: UCLA, UCI, UCSD, UCSB, UCR, UCB
Accepted: UCSB, UCR
Rejected: –

Missing 3 comp sci classes for 2nd choice major but they weren’t offered at any CC in my area.

I know I won’t get into MCDB because Organic Chemistry is required… but what about Cognitive science? Im hoping TAP can pull through

Ah, this brings back memories of last year when I was checking the portal everyday and hoping they’d release the decision date soon.

It’ll be over before you know it!

Also, on the day of decisions coming out, expect the server to crash and stay down for an hour or so. It’ll extend the wait just that much longer, lol

I know it’s a long shot but does anyone think i have a shot with a 3.32 gpa and TAP certified as a history major?
