The average admitted appears to be 3.62.

Who knows with TAP you might have a chance. UCLA does a holistic review, and if you have excellent EC’s and essays ( overcome hardship etc), you stand a good chance. Be positive. Hope you get in.

From what they told us yesterday at the Arts Open House, decisions are indeed coming out next week!

X_X

I’m not sure I’m ready

Edit: esp if Davis, SD and UCLA all come out on the same day!

Goodnight everybody. I’m taking Maleficents’ sleeping curse and sleeping until decisions are released! Lol

@lindyk8 @Mia0Mia @Cayton I just hope the competition wont be too tough this year for the European Studies program. I know I shouldn’t be that stressed out with a 3.5 GPA since the average admitted was 3.46 last year with a 75% of admittance, but the transfer application increase made me stressed. Do you think that being an international student (I’m French) helps or hurts ? also I finished my IGETC and I’m from SMC. Last question I took a semester off (this spring) because I’m done with SMC (got my AA in December and reached a lil over 60 units) can the fact to be out of college a whole semester can actually hurt my application ?
Thanks

I think it helps that you’re an international. UC needs money and international have to pay more than in state students.

Yeah, internationals are welcome at UC’s since they pay higher tuition.

@lepure, I know this last week is super-tough, but as the others said, being French probably helps. All things being equal, I think you’ll be fine.

I’m on break now, and this week is tough. I think the only thing that will keep me sane will be copious amounts of FFXIV, lol.

@LePure How many Cs do you have?

I have no idea what you just said @apocalypso 8-| :o3

@lindyk8, it’s an online video game. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is there transfer thread for UCB?

^^^ Yes, it’s a bit further down the list.

I’ve notice UCLA threads always have the most posts. I’ve always known it is prestigious, but Is UCLA really THAT good? I’ve never actually did any real research on what UCLA actually has to offer.

UCLA has the most applications of any college nation-wide every year. Yes, it’s that good.

@Xaeyvr UCLA has amazing opportunities to get involved and become well rounded. Education wise, I assume there are many other universities with equally great or even better education systems. But from what I have researched, UCLA students get great offers for employment, volunteer, internships, etc…It is the type of place for those who love the busy lifestyle of always trying new things and improving, which is one of the reasons why it is my dream school.

Hi guys! So the decision is coming up pretty soon and I’m so anxious.

Anyways, my gpa is 3.76 and im applying to global studies (of which avg gpa is 3.85). So l had never gotten any C in my life before but last fall right before my last final exam i had a severe toothache (i know it sounds stupid) that really hindered me from performing my best on my final exam (i failed my final exam) and thus i got a C overall for this class (a GE class). My gpa went down from 3.81 to 3.76. Would this C significantly affect my acceptance chance? I’d say im a pretty well-rounded person and I wrote quite solid personal statement. Im also TAP certified and an international student at PCC.

It’s because everyone who applies to UCLA is neurotic.
