Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

Go for it.

wake me up when April ends !

@Nirsimha Hey! I go to the same college!
I tried transferring last year as a one year transfer. An important thing is if you have completed 60 units. Considering you got into UCSD I’m assuming you have. Not finishing IGETC is a down point, but with a 4.0 it may have balanced you out. Good Luck!

Do they email you Friday? What time of the day are the decisions usually in?

they come out at 5pm but last year it came out a bit early like around 4pm. also, they will email you but probably couple hours later

is there a housing trick for LA like SD

Yes, go to google.com and search " housing trick has been thoroughly disproved last year". Seriously, just wait for a few days.

does anyone know when the corrections for fafsa are DUE? is there even a specific date for UC’s?

I don’t think they’re really due… If you don’t correct the numbers (which you may not need to) then the school will assume your original estimates for family income and whatnot were correct and give you money (or nothing) accordingly

awesome! we just used last year’s tax income (with some minor tweaks) since my parent’s income is pretty consistent

same here

@UCorDie Wait, so just to clarify, you did not fulfill some of the TAG requirements? Specifically your English class?

Is it possible for me to get into UCLA for computer science? I have a 3.91 gpa, but I’m asking because I didn’t finish 2 prereqs (chem 1a and 1b at my school) and the major description says ā€œThe following courses are REQUIRED for admission to this majorā€. I finished all the other prereqs.

@tehkman I’m no expert but I think ā€œrequiredā€ means you need them for admission

@lindyk8 did you ear anything about film and television! ?

If decisions do indeed cone out on Friday, will they release ALL decisions or will they just START releasing decisions and continue sporadically throughout the week?

All on Friday

Does anyone know what is "good"housing message on UCSD website and what is bad one?
Mine is "The Housing Office currently does not have updated information on your Admission Status and therefore cannot accept a housing application today. You may come back to this link once Admissions has communicated their decision on your application to UC San Diego. You can check this by logging in at myapplication.ucsd.edu. "Not believe in it, just curious…

Why are you asking this question in the UCLA thread? @springtree

So glas to see someone else possibly doing their UCLA major in gender studies @sammycatt. Hopefully you get into your first choice major but if you end up in gender studies I can’t imagine it would hinder grad school plans that much. But ultimately I have no idea. Do you know what kind of psychology you might what to pursue post-graduation?

I initially wasn’t that interest in gender studies ether but my councilor said it was a good choice since I hope to go on to study social work and family law. I feel like all the liberal humanities and behavioral science majors have a lot of overlap… so hopefully everything works out come graduate school time!
