I’m too shy to call admissions. I feel like they hate all of us for calling so much haha.
Response from admissions office:
“Sometime next week.”
Me: “Not tomorrow?”
Her: “Not necessarily, we haven’t been given the affirmative yet.”
… lol
I just called they said if not tomorrow then by Monday for sure!!
Well my dreams have just been crushed
The ambiguity is killing me. that “not necessarily” wtffff man rip
I feel like they are trying to mess with our heads!!!
They have always come out on Fridays though, so @HopeInLA ’ s exchange sounds promising!
I will apply as ucla admission board member, so I can give back to the community. I will do my best to let them know how it feels
I have been looking at these threads for 2 years, I’m jumping into the anxiety pool! I must say, you guys do make a fellow crazy person feel in good company. I had hoped to find out Friday; planned an all day beach trip with my toddler…either way the beach will be fun. Good luck everyone!! Anyone know how they way major gpa vs uc courses gpa ?
In all fairness, it’s not UCLA’s fault here. It’s about protocol and politics. Timing affects every school so I’m sure they’ve decided on a system UC wide that works best over the years, and this is it. It’s not out of malice, they’re not trying to frustrate us. It’s just the way the system works best for them.
One day, or one week, either way, stay patient and good luck everyone!
They could be releasing a few at a time, too. I know some schools do that over the course of a week or two, although historically I’ve never seen UCLA or a UC do it.
you guys all need to chill. whether the admissions date is tomorrow or in two weeks you’re either gonna be denied or admitted and at this point it’s 100% out of your control.
sincerely,
Norcal Hipster who is also a UCLA transfer applicant
@shapkaa other UCs do release decisions in batches
@FUTUREUCLABRUIN1 Ah, ok. I’ve never seen it, but thank you for informing me. I know UCLA’s been getting more and more apps every year, so it’s plausible for them to switch to such a system, although they notified all freshmen at once I believe.
Yeah, I could have sworn they did rolling releases last year, even UCLA. I was in here back then snooping around and I thought I remembered some being accepted several days after others were. Anyone else remember?
It was like a bulk roll-out on day one, with most notified, but then a scattering of more over the following week.
@shapkaa- My daughter is a UC to UC transfer and heard back from SB and SD the first day decisions were released about a month ago and I know some people here are still waiting to hear from those schools. But you are correct ithat historically UCLA has not released in batches.
Do you guys think a 3.5 molecular bio major, with really good ECs, 9/10 Personal Statement has a chance of getting in? Be honest please!
Some UCs release all at once, and others in batches.
Gosh I really wish Cal State LA would hurry up and release decisons already!!!
@HopeInLA tbh your stats are pretty low for that major. Do you have TAP? I think your ecs and personal statement might give your application a nice balance
