Fall 2015 UVA Transfer Waitlist

Another thing that may help any waitlister who is really motivated to get in, is send a thank you note to the college thanking them for offering you a spot on the waitlist and explain why you really want to attend their school.

Just accepted off wait list tonight! In-state. Not sure if I’ll accept but happy that at least I got in.

@yensid97 Already? How?

My girlfriend, a recent 2014 graduate, was waitlisted in 2012 when she transferred from ODU to the college as a history major with a 4.0 GPA. Admissions this year have been historically low for UVA, but there is still hope.

@yensid97 had you already sent in a final official transcript? how long do you have to decide?

@hlplsslyhopn they only get 48 hours to make a decision

@hlplsslyhopn @canucksfangirl I receive a call right before 5. I haven’t sent any transcripts or any additional material besides what was in my common app and my midyear report which was sent back in February. I also didn’t email them at all. Just received offer.
Also, I think there might be some confusion. I’m not a transfer student I’m a high school student. Sorry to post this news in the incorrect thread.

@yensid97 lmao you had me excited for a second. Congrats though!!! If that happens to me I will probably cry hah.

Can we be chanced for coming off the wait list lol

I wonder if the wait list is just consolation for a rejection. :frowning:

We have a 26-33% chance of getting in. If you’re CAS that is…

McIntire…

lol yea I could tell @McIntireguy123 . I’ll pray for you.

@McIntireguy123 I have heard that they wait list all legacies out of courtesy

omg thats so scandalous. Is that just for McIntire or for every school? @hlplsslyhopn

We do not put all legacies on the waiting list. The person who told you that doesn’t seem to get their info from a reputable source. I hope they didn’t pass any other gems along!

@hlplsslyhopn I would like to believe that I’ve earned my way to the wait list  and I dont have a legacy

Yea same @McIntireguy123

omg thanks for replying on my thread! @“Dean J” I was wondering, how do you guys view medical class withdrawals?
I was assaulted on campus in February and I was forced to drop two of my classes (doctor’s and adviser’s orders) because I got a concussion. This was something that was completely out of my control and it would be unfortunate if that prevented me from leaving my school. Thanks again!

@hoospls, My gosh, I hope you are feeling better.

I don’t think a lighter course load in one semester would prevent you from leaving. I think the number of prior semesters on the transcript and whether the courses taken fulfill the requirements of your chosen school would be really, really important in the decision.
