Is anyone else applying to the School of GS for the fall of 2016? Early Action or Regular Action
And anyone applying internationally? Australia or Japan?

Completing a regular action application as well. Just missed the EA deadline
Applied early action to meet the January 15th deadline. Hoping to hear back soon.
Nickdrake - Good luck!
I am also applying for regular decision. Just curious - has anyone here taken the GSAE or found anywhere to take the exam outside of Seattle or New York?
Edit - It seems they have updated the GSAE schedule. Cities now include Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
I submitted SAT scores instead
When is the last time you took the SAT? Also, if you are comfortable sharing, what has your path to GS been like?
It’s nearing a decade since the last time I took the ACT.
I took the test again in November. Dealt with various personal issues throughout high school and took a couple years off to travel and adjust my priorities. Went back to community college in June of 2014 and have done well there since. I focused on these aspects of my life in the personal statement.
Good luck @nickdrake
I’m applying for early action for the March 1st deadline. I just have to submit my essays which I think I’ll finalise by tomorrow.
Are you an international applicant? @LasagneMoodAF
I was rejected last year. Now applying for the March 1st deadline.
good luck! @nickdrake
Good luck to you as well. @mmm6291 Did the admissions committee give you feedback on why they didn’t accept you?
@nickdrake it was because I didn’t pass the TOEFL test…
I’m currently applying to Early Action March 1st Deadline as well. I’m a Canadian but I did 2 years at a California Community College.
@mmm6291 Sorry to hear that. How long did it take for them to get back to you? Just trying to a get a sense of how long it generally takes the committee to review applications.
Are we all coming from community colleges?
@ nickdrake It took about 5 weeks. They said they would review the application holistically, but I think GPA and test score mean 80%. I have been in California community college for 4 years…
Yeah from my research it seems like the personal statement and GPA are the most important aspects of the application.
I got an email for an interview this Friday, not really sure what it means, I havent taken any test and I wont be able to take the GSA until April, I guess they’re gonna tell me to try again next year!
Are you sure you are getting sidelined for next year? Sure you haven’t taken the GSAE, but that doesn’t mean they are interviewing you to tell you you are rejected. If that were that case, I think communications would have ceased with an e-mail or letter informing you of the rejection.
@MikeSauce I agree with @maxenvellzen. If their intention was to reject you then I don’t think they would have requested an interview. They may defer your application to the regular decision pool. Did you receive the request for the interview today or on Friday?
