Undecided major is an impacted major at several of the Cal State campuses including CSULB. so applicants are ranked by their EI just as like the Engineering majors, Bio Majors etc… Impacted means there are more qualified applicants then they have spots available especially with 90,000 applications this year. With around a 36% admit rate for Undecided there are a lot of rejected applicants.
Did everyone who was accepted get an email? My daughter never received an email, but when she checked the portal, it said she was accepted. Is it possible she’ll still get an email?
My D2 received an e-mail but it was over 48 hours after her portal said she was admitted.

I saw someone commented that you would get an e-mail within 48 hours after you are admitted.
Transcripts/AA-T/AS-T verification due MARCH 15th (called Admissions just now)
I am a waitlisted transfer student so I’m not sure if same date goes for students who were accepted
@marliiiii the website said that AA-T/AS-T verification is optional
@boxandwhiskers hmm I’m not sure if it’s just for my admission process or not. But the person who answered admissions told me that they needed my AA-T verification (which can be submitted electronically depending on your college)
So I’m not sure, but you should call just to double check if they need it or not. Even tho the website says optional
@marliiiii that makes sense. I had a freak out about the AA-T (now referred to as ADT at some schools) verification thing in the summer because when I was filling out applications, it asked for my CCCID number and I didn’t know what that was and was just going to leave it blank. Then I talked to a counselor who asked me what my CCCID number is and I told him I didn’t know and that I don’t think it’s important. He told me I should definitely find out, there’s a number you can call through OpenCCC. If you applied to your community college through CCCApply, then you have to re-apply to your community college and they’ll assign you a CCCID number for your entire school record - That’s how the colleges will verify your AA-T/AS-T degree and apparently it bumps up your GPA (according to the counselor I spoke to). It’s like assigning a number to your entire community college record so they can easily look you up and verify that you finished your degree requirements.
It was a huge ordeal, and the lady at OpenCCC who was helping me figure out my ID number told me that it’s not a huge deal if you don’t know your CCCID number when it comes time to verify your degree because they can look you up, but it makes things easier for the school, so I would look into it if you don’t know your CCCID number. Or you can call OpenCCC and ask them, they are pretty helpful.
I would also like to add for anyone who is curious. Another way you can find your CCCID is through your high school. We all took the cahsee/sat and that was when our CCCID was assigned. (Correct me if I’m wrong, probably am) but I found my CCCID on my official high school transcript (yes, I opened one up because I was curious lol)
Yes! I keep getting that same email!
@Julija How do you check your portal before you are accepted?
@amiekus. Go to the email CSULB sent you when you applied. Click on the link on the letter that says check my application status. Then enter your CSULB id at the bottom of that letter with the last four numbers of your SS and your bday. It will confirm it’s you and send you an email. My son’s says moved to competitive round. I guess they are doing this in waves?
Any more acceptances? My son’s status still says “advanced to competitive round”
Just got this today:
Thank you for your application to CSULB for the Fall 2016 term. I am writing to provide an update on the status of your admission application. The good news is that you are still being considered for admission for Fall 2016 and we have everything we need to complete our review. However I want to let you know that we will not be able to make a decision on your application until the end of March due to our highly competitive process. I understand that this is both an exciting and anxious time for you, but we ask your patience as we continue our reviews.
We promise to have a decision for you by March 31st, so please continue to do well in your classes and check your email at the end of March.
Sincerely,
Janice Miller
Interim Director of Admissions
CSULB Enrollment Services
