I know it is a bit early but we’ll start applying in a few months. Is there anyone who is planning to transfer to UC Berkeley for Fall 2016 in the Haas School of Business? How are u preparing for it? Any questions, comments, concerns?
The competition is so real lol. Ill be applying next fall with you I suppose I am doing a number of things to prepare,I’m not going to be one of those generic president of every club applicants tho. A big thing im doing is taking a class at UCB this summer through a URM organization, Im hoping this helps me get a feel for what Berkeley is like. What about you??
I’m almost done with all of my major prerequisites, will be taking classes to fulfill Berkeley’s GE requirements. I am also in a lot of clubs, don’t know what else I can possibly do. And yeah you are definitely right about the competition.
maybe a job?
I do work part time. But I guess Berkeley wants applicants to relate their work with Business to show our interest.
I plan on it as well.
I plan on having most all general ed out of the way. Most pre-reqs will be done but application time, but I’ll have the second calculus course and a second language course left in the spring.
I’m the president of one club and was going to get a position on the board of my school’s PTK honor society, but working in excess of full time (as a business owner and an doing digital marketing consulting to a larger Bay Area company) like I am now (and have been for years), I just can’t realistically do it without letting something else slip a little… and neither my grades nor my work can afford to slip. Because of this, I think my EC’s will be somewhat weak but me, holistically, will be quite strong I think.
I think so too brian, that u have got a pretty strong application there specially when u have personal business experience.
Well I came here to check it out and see it’s the usual suspects. B-)
Lol Dont worry i’ve been mining data from this years accepted applicants
@lindyk8 Yep, here we are! Though currently I’ve been conflicted of what I want to do.
It’s always been in the back of my mind a little as I’m 29 and the thought of an additional 3.5 years of college and then re-entering the workforce with “just” an undergraduate (albeit it [hopefully] from a prestigious university and one of the best business programs in the world) is a little unsettling, especially having recently gotten engaged and wanting to start a family and move forward with my life.
A potential lucrative job opportunity has also presented itself, though at this stage it’s nothing more than an idea from the person who will soon be outgoing from that position and who would recommend me to the board and he thinks there’s a decent chance they’d go for it.
I’d hate to give up what I’ve been working so hard for now that I finally found a clear goal and have been doing so great … but this is exactly the type of job I’d want anyway.
Man … decisions.

I don’t know, but I just have to say a degree is vital in the long run. I know they have the weekend MBAs. Maybe there’s a way to do both (get a B.A.), if not at berkeley.
Major: Business Administration
GPA: 3.93 with one B non-major and a W on Calculus (retaking it this fall). I am pretty confident I will get an A. I had to drop because of some family issues.
Classes: All completed by Spring
ECs: Marketing Club, International Student Volunteer, and worked at a restaurant as cashier and server.
Should I consider Econ major instead? Chance me please. Thank you.
I would suggest you contact hass directly. They are very nice at answering questions.
@lindyk8 Thank you.
