Hi,
I am transfer student who is admitted to UCI, UCSB, UCR, CSULB and CSUF for Fall 2016. I will be junior when I transferred to one of above universities. I major in Sociology. I am not sure it might be helpful for those of you who would answer my question (Thank you so much!). I want to describe my personality and situation briefly. I am not either a party person and antisocial. I am more likely to seen as quiet, shy student. I l have lived in Orange County for my life in America. I am Asian. As of right now, I am not determined to go grad school after graduation of 4-yrs Univ. But I know what I want to do/become after school. (It could be in some ways, but not very related to Sociology)
With all the matter and thinking, I finally decided to choose between UCI and UCSB. It is so hard to choose one over the other because they are both good but different in some ways, I think. Upon my research about school, I figured out UCI and UCSB are same tier in UC ranking. SO if any of you guys help me out or advise, I’d appreciate so much!
I will separate my questions for you to see easily.
- Which school is more prestigious in overall?
tell me what you guys think! - Which school has better Sociology program/faculty/network? AND What are their impacted area of study?
- Because I would like to do internship during my junior and senior year, which school has more possibility to get in touch with companies?
-From what I know, Irvine is city that is close to LA and other cities. But SB is not (suburb)? - Do you think Junior in college will have enough time to enjoy social life beside working part-time and being full time student?
-One of the reasons I can’t get rid of UCSB is their beautiful campus and active social life. I have always willing to get involve in clubs but never had chance or too lazy in community college. I feel like the two years in college would be my last period staying in school for the rest of my life.
I look forward to listen to your advise! Thank you very much for your time.
