I called the other day and they said that the deadline just ended on the 1st and he didn’t seem like the admissions office were going to be looking at files anytime soon…
Hopefully we will get decisions soon but i wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t hear back until the end of April @Saw777
I was just about to call them but thank you for the reply </3 next week will definitely tell us if we’re going to be just like Fall 2015 if some of us do not receive decisions by then. I asked my counselor a few months ago about the process of reviewing an application. She said first it will be reviewed by an admissions counselor then it goes through a committee of admission specialists. Also, she said this,
“Application decisions are released at set intervals, and all students will be notified by June 15.”
I wonder if Brandeis will do the same
I don’t know why they would wait so long to release decisions because most of us have applied to several other schools. Waiting that long could be such a deterrent for people.
Northeastern is my #1 choice, but if I was in between schools, I don’t think I’d wait that long honestly.
@Giraffing I feel the same way. At least one of the schools I applied to has a deposit deadline that is BEFORE the latest time prospective NE transfers could get an admissions decision (June 15th). Finding out about an admissions decision at the last minute would be stressful, and possibly lead to making a hasty decision.
Did anyone else have a switch in their admissions counselor? I applied late February, my online portal said my counselor was DeJesus, but when I checked today it was a different woman. Did this happen to anyone else?? Is this a bad sign, I’m freaking out!!
That didn’t happen to me, but it doesn’t sound like a bad sign necessarily…
Does anyone have any idea what the earliest timeframe we might find out by would be??
@bluea4251 Every time I call, I get the same answer of, “soon.” Not exactly helpful
I called the admissions office today and the guy I talked to was very rude and cut me off saying I’ll know “by June 15th” … not very helpful
Well I guess “soon” is better than “by June 15th”
I’m kind of late to this party, but I’m a little relieved to know other people are in the same boat as me (even those it’s a pretty bad boat to be stuck in, lol). I’m kind of a borderline candidate, but I’m also applying to the College of Arts, Media, & Design, so I’m hoping it might be little easier to get in there than into more science/business related college. Anyhow, good luck, everyone!! Hopefully we hear back soon.
Welp, now we wait I guess lol. BU’s down payment (or whatever you call it) deadline is June 1st, so…hurry up, NEU! I ain’t got the time!
(Seriously though, moving and all will be stressful if I only get to hear back in mid June. Sigh. I like to have a lot of time)
Yeah I have to sign a lease ASAP on an apartment at my current school if I’m not transferring … so I really need to find out like yesterday
I have to be back at my currently school the first week of august if i stay here so i am hoping to hear soon. Good Luck everyone!
has anyone heard anything yet??
@ocrowley nope… I’m tempted to call admissions again, but I’ve called 3 times already
Just got an email back from my counselor:
“Thank you for your email. Decisions will be released by June 15th. Admissions is not rolling, but decisions will be sent out in waves as we approach mid-June. Please note, having your application complete earlier does not necessarily mean your admissions decision will be released in an earlier wave.”
Sooo…BU’s deadline is June 1. This is not so great news for me (and others, apparently). Now what?
Just replied and asked if this means that the first decisions will be released in June (I am such an email warrior lol). will update if/when he answers!
@aimingforthesky If they’re going to be released in June, there’s no way I can take that risk! The two other schools I like have deposits due June 1st!
sad… I just want to know.
