@owenrider I got in this year after having been rejected last year. I’m not sure that it helped but it probably didn’t hurt either.
Not trying to freak you guys out, but check this: http://enrollment.northwestern.edu/pdf/common-data/2014-15.pdf
The transfer admission rate for 2014-2015 was ~5-6%…
@booklover97 Yea, I certainly know. Bad essay was one of the biggest reason why I didn’t get into the school I wanted to go. I have put a lot of effort into writing my essays this year. I think they, at least, are looking for someone who is mentally mature and know where they are going and how their experience can be enhanced by Northwestern and venture forward. @indieincognito Lol, thank you! Last year my essays were too bad. I guess my new essays might serve as a contrast to show much I have grown.
@KoshJim Thank you for your data set. I mean NU’s undergrad is pretty small so I think it makes sense that they do not have so many available spots.
There was an article about transfers a while ago. They look for candidates not only with strong grades but also with quality/experience that they think would enrich the experience of the NU community.
@IBProspect123 Thanks! I was notified on Wednesday. Caeaser is their student portal, it was made available to me with my acceptance notification. Here are my stats:
Current School: Top 20 Private School
College GPA: 3.808 but midterm reports bring it up
HS GPA: 4.0, Class Rank 1/220
SAT: 2290 (750 Reading, 740 Writing, 800 Math)
SAT II: 800 Biology E, 800 Chemistry, 780 World History, 800 Math II, 800 Physics, 780 US History
Financial Aid: Yes
Extracurriculars in College:
Literacy Tutor
Pre-Med Society
Investment Club
Student Government
Model UN
Solid recommendations from a bio professor and a Spanish professor. I think my essays were pretty good too, much better than regular admissions cycle.
I’m probably leaving something out but thats the gist. Good luck to everyone!
Does anyone know when the next wave of applicants are going to be notified? Maybe Wednesday?
@jmcdonell97 Judging by last year’s thread, decisions typically came on Tuesday evenings with some of the earlier ones on Wednesdays. It looks like decisions came every week, but this year they started earlier than last year so there may not be any next week.
I just received an email letting me know my transfer app is complete… when I sent in everything over a month ago
Hopefully I wont have to wait too long to hear back.
Yea, they notified me 20 days ago that my application is complete. So anxiously waiting for the decision.
@rthoya I guess you applied for other top schools right? Are you considering schools like Columbia and Penn?
Has anyone heard back from them today? Decisions might be coming out today or tomorrow
@romanjoe I think they come out around 6pm E.T
@romanjoe Based on last year’s releasing date, tomorrow might be an weave of admission.
I just checked last year’s thread: decisions came out on 4.14, 4.22, 4.28, 5.5, 5.12, 5.19–basically once every week either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Good luck everyone!!!
Any other accepted students hear anything about financial aid?
has anyone heard any decisions today?
@wildcat333
Not me!
I wonder if they’ll even come out today
How about anyone else?
I would give it 1-2 more hours, if a wave does come out today
Anyone have any clue as to how they figure out who to review?
@DonCorleone123 I heard they prioritize college confidential users
