@FutureEconomist Hi, based on your username, did you apply for econ major?
@owenrider He said so in his brief run-down of himself.
@IBProspect123 Thanks!!!
I received the “application completed” email on March 25 and I still have not heard anything. Is it normal?
@PsychPRC lol yes, we might not be hearing anything until the end of June!
@PsychPRC that’s the same I have. It appears that decisions will be coming in weekly waves and that this jusn’t our decision week
@Jamesesesess
True… Let’s hope not though B-) Actually I am both expecting a result today and afraid of getting a result today. But the wait can be exhausting.
so are the result waves done for this week? or do you think they can continue thursday and friday?
@EffieWhite So relieved… Thanks! Good luck:)
@wildcat333 I don’t think there will be anymore result coming this week… According to last year, wave came once every week on either Tuesday or Wednesday
@PsychPRC ok thanks!!

Just got Rejection for CAS Econ: (Current Sophomore, transferring as Junior)
College GPA: 3.862 (Honors College, State School)
ECs: Professional org (Investment Banking related)
Wrote essays focusing on my writing hobby (I have completed the first draft for a ~120,000 word novel) and how I plan on turning my writing hobby and love of econ into a career in writing for financial publications.
HS grades weren’t the greatest.
I was just shy of National Merit Finalist cutoff in HS, but made National Achievement (I am Black and Latino, BTW)
HS Main EC was Academic Decathlon, my team finished in top 5 nationally.
My real concern is whether this indicates something with regards to the strength of my App? Is this considered an early rejection (IE 1st/2nd round?) or a middle/late one? I have also applied at UPenn,UChicago,Columbia, and a state school.
@friendlyneurotic I don’t know about the strength (I would say your profile is somewhat strong since you have a clear focus and everything, yet I don’t really know how competent the AOs are expecting us applicants to be)… However, I am sure you received the result fairly early (the second round) as the first wave came on 4.6 Wed.
Does time of decision really mean anything though? Does “rolling” mean they look at all applications and decide which ones to definitely accept and definitely reject first, or does it mean they just make send out decisions as they review each application?
