When the checkmark appears next to the transcripts they’ve received, does that mean they’ve already combed through it for mistakes/verification, etc?
I seriously am having such awful anxiety about my self reported grades, even though I checked about 90 times during the application process. Ugh…
I need help. I got admitted to UCLA with a 3.5 gpa as an English major. I said I would complete igetc by the end of spring, but I’m not so sure anymore. I’m taking a botany class to fill my physical science with a lab requirement. Currently, I have a 73% in the class even though my exam scores have been a downward trend of a D+ to an F. The professor thinks I can pass so long as I get 60ish% on my next exam and final before she drops an exam score and get near or full credit on the labs, quizzes, presentation, and extra credit for the rest of the semester. By the time the professor has graded the next exam, it will be long past the drop deadline for a W. The drop deadline is May 15th. I can’t have UCLA reverse their decision after June 1st because then I wouldn’t be able to switch to CSU Long Beach. I still haven’t heard from USC yet. I have already to spoken to an SMC counselor and she said that I’m the most favorable position for this to happen and there is a possibility that they wont rescind my acceptance. UCLA admissions was vague and said that I would have to drop and see what would happen after they reviewed 15 business days later. I’ve already signed up for bio 3 class in the summer. I’m at a loss at to what to do.
@kurobara , from my understanding, you don’t need IGETC in order to get into UCLA or any other UC. You have until the summer prior to fall quarter to fulfill IGETC, too! I’m sure dropping that course won’t affect your admission at UCLA as long as you’ve completed all the other minimal requirements
Also, if anyone else reported a change on their portal AFTER they got admitted, and are currently waiting to hear back, I just received a response from UCLA! I reported the course change on the 23rd. I dropped a non-major preq class and my admission was not in any capacity affected!
@kurobara Will you have more than 60 units by the end of spring without that class? If you do, then your acceptance should be safe if you take the W but you’ll still need to resolve this class. If including the class is 60 units, I think you should stay in the class.
Whatever you decide, you must report via the decision portal.

If you drop and end up with W, report right away, don’t wait, and also report that you’ve enrolled in a Summer class. If you can, send a screen shot of your summer class payment.
-
if you stay in the class, report Spring final grades. If you get a D or F, should take the summer class. If you get a C then you would drop the summer class.
You can accept the CSULB admission too as a backup.
I am in a major dilemma right now. I submitted my permanent resident card (green card) on May 1st. However, it was expired and they did not accept it. Although I already went file my green card renewal last year July, 21st. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is STILL producing my green card. I was told that it will arrive within 30 days, but UCLA want it to be sent before May 16th.
@kurobara Don’t listen to the “don’t worries” above. You said you would fulfill IGETC by spring and now possibly won’t. It is grounds for a possible rescind. A friend got rescinded last year from Berkeley when he dropped one IGETC class. Reach out to UCLA before you make a move and get their OK that they will accept partial end of spring. Don’t guess or rely on stranger’s input.
@kurobara @ohm888 I’m no stranger, I’ve been here for a couple of years, and I speak from experience. In the past, UCLA has not given advice on hypothetical situations, only on the facts of your current situation. I merely gave options based on the situation as presented and based on my past experience and observations.
@Happy2Help @Ohm888 I will have more than 60 units units without the botany class. I already called ucla I graduate admissions and they were not helpful. I haven’t submitted my intend to enroll to any college yet because I’m unsure at the moment. How can I accept CSULB admission at the same time as UCLA?
Did anyone else get a phone call from UCLA at 9 PM PST? I didn’t hear my phone but no message was left. And when I call back all offices are closed… (# is 310-825-4321)
Looks like it could be from anyone/department but of course I’m convinced it’s someone to tell me I’ve been rescinded or something
@Edirol I got a call from them yesterday. They just said congrats on admission and asked if I had any questions. It was from 310 206 8469 though
@dkarbcs Did they call you at 9 PM? Was it an automated call or a live person on the other line?
@Edirol It was live. And no it was at like 2 PM.
It’s pretty rare it’d be a live person on the other line at 9 PM, right? Lol, I am really freaking out about this. *deep breaths
Students are employed to call and congratulate those who are admitted. In the past, they have called until they reached the student.
@kurobara they cannot respond until you make a decision. AFAIK CSULB does not share acceptances with UCLA.
Curious… For those of you planning to live in residence halls, how old are you?
Anyone hear back from Regents? I heard back this morning… and apparently I’m being offered Regent’s! I don’t believe it though I really feel like it’s a mistake? I called to confirm, but no one picked up.
If I did get it, take that Berkeley for not accepting me!
I havent heard from Regents, been waiting on that… did you get an email? Or is it on yournportal?
@Escapyst I got an email saying there was an update to my provisional award letter. There was then a letter congratulating me on the portal.
I got the regents scholarship!
