@hellwasfull - Yes and I received an email with detailed instructions of what papers were needed. Specifically, my California state income tax return and a couple other things like a copy of CA driver’s license.
Hi guys, I just had some questions about transcripts from previous institutions. If you attended a CC and was enrolled in two classes there, but there’s still a hold on your transcripts because you didn’t pay the fees, could the UC you’re transferring to find out that you attended? This CC wasn’t actually my institution that I would be transferring from. It’s just somewhere I took a summer school class and it wasn’t even used for credit at my UC. I didn’t report it on my general UC app because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to obtain my transcript later (now) after being admitted. And my UC institution didn’t even need it for anything, so I don’t see the point in paying fees when I’m not going to obtain credit or when it’s not going to be used. I believe this has something to do with the National Student Clearinghouse Transcript Services. But my question is, if the hold is still on my transcript, could an institution that I’m transferring to like UCLA obtain enrollment verification from the school where the transcript is being held hostage? I’m in a bit of a pickle right now because I do plan on applying to law schools and I think I would need to include it. But as of right now, should I notify UCLA that I attended this CC for two classes (something that I didn’t report on my UC app in the fall)? That would probably get me rescinded right…?
@Edirol were you out of state? What’s your residency situation? Basically i lived in CA for 5.5 years with an L2 visa but recently got my green card. Basically my parents are the ones that have done the taxes and driver license and stuff. I only have an expired CA ID card, could they reject me because I personally dont have much record in CA but my parents do? Also, could you be a bit more elaborate on what papers you submitted? Sorry for coming at you like this haha, I just need to make an SIR decision and I’m gonna go in on Tuesday to take in papers. I just wanna make sure im taking every paper they need
@tresbeauvoir Yes, if they find out you lied on your UC application they will rescind you. The instructions were to include ALL courses taken for credit.
You need to email UCLA ASAP and explain this. They may or may not rescind you. If they find out later they will not be as understanding. You also need to figure out how to get your transcript.
@hellwasfull - I was an out of state student at my CCC as of 2014 but now I’m a resident. Maybe they will accept your parents’ California state tax return? Did they not send you an email of what documents were needed? If you work and have pay stubs from last year that will probably work, too. Call them tomorrow and see what you should bring.
According to the UCLA site, " If you are an undergraduate under the age of 24 and your parent(s) are not California residents, it is unlikely that you will be able to qualify as a California resident for purposes of tuition and fees."
Not sure if that applies to you but if your parents do live here I bet you’d be considered a resident. Good luck!
@tresbeauvoir You were dishonest not only toward UCLA but to that other collage as well (by not paying the fees which you owed them, just because you felt you don’t need those credits any longer!?). If I were an adcom and were aware of both situations I would certainly have rescinded you without any hesitation! And would have reported you to other UCs as well!
@tresbeauvoir you need to try to fix this asap.
You might be rescinded though. Sorry but you might have to wait a year to transfer. The rules were clear.
thanks for responding, @Cheolf .
on another note, under the mysite work study positions, I noticed that all of these positions are for the summer term, right? Does anyone know when the positions for fall quarter will open up and be posted? Just wanna know in advance.
Fall class schedule is up!

I think UCLA recently updated their schedule system (ie. in the past few days!):
The current link for class schedules is https://sa.ucla.edu/ro/Public/SOC
The original schedule search is here: http://legacy.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/schedulehome.aspx
@wonder77
Is this the definitive list?
Please say no, I’m disappointed by the lack of Latin American History courses.
@selimpride I’m not sure if this is the definitive list or not. It might be, but UCLA can always add/change courses.
You can also look at the course catalog to see all of the possible courses UCLA can offer for specific subjects.
http://catalog.registrar.ucla.edu/catalog-curricul.htm
Also, people do not start adding courses until June 16 http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/Calendars/Term-Calendar/Fall-Quarter-2016-Calendar (of course transfer students enroll at orientation)
Also, here is some info on Latin American courses (for Spring 2016, but it will probably be similar for Fall 2016): http://web.international.ucla.edu/institute/academics/las/142092
Has anyone received any calls from UCLA lately? I just missed a call from them a few minutes ago and no message was left. Seems late for them to be contacting me.
@Oldhopeful they called me around 8pm tonight and talked to me about housing, parking, orientation, etc.
@Smj8542 ah, ok, I keep worrying they’re going to call me saying that I messed up on my application or something, haha.
There was just a shooting at UCLA.
^ Just read about that. I hope everyone is okay. Yikes

All classes were cancelled. My D didn’t make it to campus for her last day of classes.
I was on campus when it happened. I heard it was a Ph.D engineering student who killed a professor and himself. I’ not 100% sure though
Just a reminder new student orientation dates are available to choose from now!
