For me, UCLA, UCI, and UCSD say “application received”. Berkeley says “under review”. UCSB says “decision pending”.
I hate those generic emails from UCLA. “Find Your Place at UCLA” - well, sure, I’d be happy to. Accept me first!
Sorry. I’m grumpy and I hate waiting.
I hate them too. It’s like when you’re waiting for a really important phone call from someone and everyone else but the person you want to call ends up calling you.
Hey, guys!
Generic messages mean nothing! The messages are set up as if you were subscribed to a forum, product, company, etc. They will keep coming in well after decisions are posted; this goes for both denied and accepted applicants.
And denied applicants. That’s messed up.

Hi guys, I’m an anthro BA gpa 3.71 I want to ask that if you have 3 Ws (1 was calc2, the other 2 are real estates classes which aren’t UC transferable) would that be very bad? Also if they’re nonUCtransferable then how will my gpa be calculated there? Thank you so much guyss!!!
A more accurate depiction is
UCLA = Under Construction Like Always
There has never been a day during my stay here where I do not see or hear construction going on, lol.
@anxiouslabear Your GPA is pretty solid! You fall on the high end of the average GPA admitted for a B.A. in Anthro ( https://www.admission.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/Tr_Prof15_mjr.htm_ ). Did you take the time to mention why you withdrew from those classes? I don’t think that the RE classes would be a big deal since they’re non-transferable and not moving you toward your degree at all. Were those classes just to fulfill a side interest?
Edit: As far as your GPA goes, they’re going to look at transferable classes to calculate that. They do want to see all of your coursework, though, regardless of transferability.
@UCLAFFF lol that’s a good one. I had an asain friend tell me the one I shared
I found out yesterday that I made the President’s Honor Roll for the Spring 2015/Fall 2015 semesters. I did not state this on my application but wish to do so now. Is it possible to add this update to my application? I already submitted my TAU but if I can, is it worth telling?
Won’t they see that on your transcript? (Unless I’m misunderstanding)
@sbccstudent19
In my opinion, GPA-related honor roll isn’t particularly beneficial. They’ll see your GPA and they’ll make their own judgments based on that.
@Edirol - hmm I didn’t think about that but I think you might be right.
@burdened - Personally I think it shows recognition for academic achievement but if it already shows on the transcript then I would agree that telling them wouldn’t be beneficial.
@sbccstudent19 Although mine does show on my transcript, I added it anyway when I filled out my application. Although I’ve continued to receive it, I won’t update my TAU with it. Since the priority deadline for TAU changes has already passed, I don’t know that it would do much good. If you look at your unofficial transcript online, you can usually see it on there, which means that if UCLA asks for a copy they’ll see it too.
Jumping in on this late. Getting antsy. UCLA, UCD and UCSC are my top choices One more month guys!!
