Is 3.89 GPA good enough for math major? I lack EC and I am intercampus transfer from another UC.

@g23nov Congrats man! I heard back from UCI yesterday too and I got in. I also got in to UCSB. I applied for Global studies at UCLA too. What’d you apply for at UCI? For me it’s criminology… I know, pretty broad range of degrees haha.

@Salmanthgr8 hey fellow life science major. i applied to neuroscience major w a 3.65 gpa having all REQUIRED pre req’s done (1 year of bio,1 year calc,1 year gen chem,1 semester ochem). TAP certified. strong personal statement. lots of leadership and EC. research. what do you think of my chances for neuro?
@supremedstudent It looks really good for you! You probably will get in to neuro! What did you select as alternate major?
@props welcome! I’m new too… Did you apply to any other UCs? I’d say your chances are pretty good. My transfer GPA is around 3.78-3.8 and I applied to global studies. So far I’ve been accepted to Santa Barbara and Irvine. I’d say if you applied to others and got in, you are most likely going to get in. Good luck to everyone! The waiting is the worst part.
Thanks! No other UC’s. Applied to USC and they emailed asking a few questions and got into a couple private schools. Your chances look good!
@Salmanthgr8 Thank you! i really hope i get into neuro it is my dream. I’m just super worried my gpa isn’t good enough. my alternate major was chicanos studies because spanish was my first language and I’m hispanic and really into the culture.

IM. SO. NERVOUS. i honestly feel like with the amount of applications they received from extremely qualified applicants they’re choosing who gets in by eenie meenie miny moe. At least its how I imagine Comm majors being chosen X_X

Hello everyone! I have been following this thread for weeks and thought I would make an account.
I am an out of state, community college English major with a 3.9 GPA. I am currently in an Honors program and am moderately involved. My essays were fairly intriguing, discussing my origins of interest in the field and my heritage. I still have not heard back from any of the uc’s I’ve applied to, is that a bad thing? Hoping someone could tell me that it’s fine and I should relax. Best of luck to everyone btw
