My essays were good, but not great. What do you think my chances are, given that I got the C in calc?
@scottyanceynv your gpa is way below average for that major. Unfortunately TAP wont really do much here except get you into your alternate major. But people with your credentials have gotten in to Biz Econ. What is your alternate major?
@scottyanceynv Just like Salman said, GPA is lower than the 25% avg of admitted students. TAP is going to help you with the college of letters and science some deal since they’re one of the ones that care more about. You have your EC’s backing you too. Overall, your admission is going to depend on a good deal of different factors for this year that we can’t account for. Given that you’ve completed prereqs, I’d say that chances are still lower based on what we know but not impossible. As long as you’ve had a more upward trend in grades in major courses I’m sure the C should be overlooked as long as it’s the only one. This is all just a matter of what I think just as a heads up so take it with a grain of salt. We’ll hear from UCLA soon so wishing you the best in getting in!

i’m crossing my fingers for both of us! i’m amazed that global studies is a highly competitive major but then again, it feels like every major at ucla is competitive nowadays, haha. and that’s cool!! i got accepted as a global cultures major at uci. i’m dying to give them my SIR but i’m just waiting to hear back from ucla and ucsd just in case i do happen to get into either one 
No more chance posts please stop. It’s seriously so stupid, especially this late in the game. Nobody has much better of an idea on how likely you are to be admitted than you do. Stop looking for refutation/confirmation of what you already suspect and chill out for 5 more days.
Not to be a jerk, but most people use this thread as a source of information pertinent to the general applicant pool, not just one person, and all of the posts asking to be “chanced” just make it very difficult to sift through the noise

Please tell me you aren’t serious. You didn’t complete your IGETC, you didn’t complete your prerequisites, you have a 2.xx GPA, you’re applying to Electrical Engineering… I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s impossible, but yea, it’s almost impossible.
Nothings impossible, just highly unlikely. I’d also say no.
@hdoan24 2. GPA @-) I think you need to work on boosting your GPA and finishing your pre reqs. You might want to look at tag agreements with other UC like UCI.

I can tell UCLA applicants don’t really understand sarcasm… Lol. Guys, don’t get me wrong, it’s a big deal, but at the same time, it’s not. Just relax, stay busy, and whatever happens, happens. If it is legit your dream school and you don’t get in, there is next year. If you say, hell no I’m not wasting a year, then you don’t want it bad enough.
Let’s be honest. Pretty much none of us tried our absolute hardest. Otherwise we wouldn’t be on this forum for the most part. I know I sure as hell didn’t. But, if I get accepted, I will take it seriously and try my hardest. I just have horrible study habits, because they don’t exist.
