FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@ElevatedThinking Ok good because I don’t think I’d be able to last another week lol

@ElevatedThinking Has it been confirmed? I’ve only seen assumptions based on previous years. The few here that have recently called admissions were told things that would lead one to believe they’re releasing them on the 29th.

Yes, it has been confirmed. Multiple times.

CC ambassador from UCLA at my CC and my friend’s CC have confirmed 22nd.
Three of my counselors have confirmed 22nd.
Two representatives from UCLA Undergraduate Admissions have said “this Friday” (22nd).
The past five years have all released on the second-to-last Friday of April, and always a week before Berkeley.

It’s almost like you guys want it to be the 29th LOL.

@ElevatedThinking Do you know what time they usually release?

5pm

@ElevatedThinking Haha, I definitely want it to be this Friday. I think I’d just rather think it’s coming the 29th and be pleasantly surprised if it’s early, rather than think it’s this Friday and be disappointed if it’s not. Thanks for the info though, I think, haha. The anxious waiting has now gone into overdrive.

It bugs me that at my CC, I haven’t even gotten a taste of my major. After only taking four poli-sci classes at a CC, how much could I actually know? I’m so excited to hear back from UCLA in two days…

@solostish I completely agree. Im afraid once I transfer I wont be as prepared for all the upper division courses.

so i know this has nothing to do with UCLA but I just got accepted to Columbia University today and all i have to say is if UCLA and Berkeley don’t accept me im gonna be pissed…im gonna be fine…but i’ll definitely be pissed.

@Mike2011
congrats!! I didn’t even know Columbia accepted transfers.

Anyone else looking to transfer from a private, out-of-state university?

Im technically a California resident, but I’ve been going to school in Boston for two years. Not too sure how the UCs are viewing me…

@ElevatedThinking But why would Regent’s scholarship apps be due on Sunday then? Invitations do not guarantee admission. But if what you’re saying is true, then applications would be due after decisions are released. That just doesn’t make any sense.

@calivalleyyy Oh, my sweet summer child.

  1. For the past 5 years, the deadline for UCLA Regents Scholarship application has been after the decision announcement day.

  2. The majority of those who are invited to Regents are admitted.

  3. I’ve listed multiple sources that have confirmed the date. Unless you can list one credible source that says otherwise, I don’t see why you’re arguing with me.

@ElevatedThinking Not arguing, just trying to make sense out of all of this.

Quick correction: looks like in 2011, Regents was due before the announcement date. Regardless, it’s the 22nd for this year. Get excited everyone.

Someone should make a thread for Regents Candidates. If not, I will.

@ElevatedThinking Does that mean people receive invites, and then are rejected, only to have submitted an application prior to the deadline?

@ElevatedThinking All decisions will be released on 22nd, except the decision for you.

@solostish yes, definitely!

Let me know if you make one.

I’m honestly just so confused. I definitely won’t have my regent’s application completed until Saturday, but what If I get denied on Friday. I will have gotten a letter of rec and answered the prompt for nothing.

Anyone know of someone who received an invitation, only to be denied?
