FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

VEGETA, what does the scouter say about his anxiety level?

IT’S OVER 9,000!!!

only DBZ fans can relate lol

^ :)) love it!

@tedopotato12 @Sumner @SevenBlue7 COMM MAJORS UNITE!! Where did you hear about UCLA only admitting 100 each year? Thats scary. I really hope they care more about GPA though given the fact that almost all comm majors will have very high GPAs and stacked ECs…our personal statements are what sets us apart. It would be a shame to have spent so much emotional energy writing a statement only to have them disregard it in the decision process. Anyways the wait is almost over. Good luck to everyone!!

@Charphilo You part of the ginyu force? lol

In honor of this weekends season premier : http://www.■■■■■.me/images/winter-is-coming/brace-yourself-admission-results-are-coming.jpg

My status still says “Application Received.” They probably saw the GPA and just put it in the “no thanks” pile.

@041191

Everyone’s application will state “Application Received” until an admissions decision is posted on their portal; for at that moment it will change to “Application Decision”.

@041191 That’s what everyone else’s says. Relax.

@Mike2011 UCLA has a page that lists transfer admit’s average GPA & acceptance rates by major. Go Google it. Communications major has the lowest acceptance rate out of all majors in L&S, at 10% (average GPA of admits was something like 3.94). It’s even harder to get in than Biz Econ. I was under the impression that Comm major was relatively easy to get into, but apparently not.

@041191 Lets not think like that! My portal still says “Application Recieved” also

POSITIVE THOUGHTS PEOPLE! X_X

Best of luck today everyone! I’m with ya~

What??? Why are you guys saying “still” says???

5 pm is not in the past. Now, at 6 pm maybe that kind of vernacular would make sense.

Like @UCLAFFF said, it will be like that most likely until 5 pm- when application decisions are finally out.

@Mike2011 @sumner @SevenBlue7 just checked the portal…change my major from comms to anthropology…I take that as a rejection. But hey at least I know know that this $25 mascara is worth every penny. Not a single smudge lmao. I wish you guys the best of luck and hope that y’all are part of that 100 that get accepted in the major!!!

@tedopotato12 - You asked to change your major or the application changed it automatically?

@tedopotato12 where do you see that? I’m not seeing a major listed on my portal

I have it there “pre economics” as it supposed to be

@ElevatedThinking No i meant i didn’t realize that they only admit 100 people…i def know how hard it is to be accepted into communications which is why I’m pretty terrified. I didn’t realize it was harder than BizEcon tho i thought for sure those guys were screwed lol.

The text for your major on the portal should read something like this

THIS IS NOT A DECISION, JUST WHAT THE PORTAL SAYS BEFORE DECISIONS

Application Status: Application Received

UCLA Undergraduate Admission

@tedopotato12 did u list Anthro as your alternate? I didn’t even know we had the option to choose an alternate maj. until maybe last month ughhh!! It is possible then that maybe u were accepted for your second choice??

I listed anthro as my alternate but I still have my major listed as my main choice for major.

You can have an alternate if you’re tap certified

we’ll find out soon honey bunnies

My major still lists Chemistry which is what it should.

my worst fear is not getting accepted because the admissions didn’t consider me a CA resident even though my community college did.
