@dakness989 Transfers tend not to talk about their stats for some reason, the only reason I know some people’s is because I happened to ask theirs. And usually it was college GPA and maybe standardized testing scores, so I don’t know how people really did in high school unfortunately. But I’m sure there are some who didn’t do as well in high school, and I do know several transfers who came from community colleges. The amount of emphasis given to high school grades really depends on how long you’ve been in college. I must say though, having a good GPA in college can sometimes make up for a less than stellar high school GPA.
@YonceKnowles Do you know any transfers/people in general that got in with around 1700 SATs/25 ACT?
@Buttmuncher321 No, I do not. It’s possible but not likely
I have a friend who got into penn with around a 1700 for her SATs.
I am wondering why this thread is very quiet…
Well, let’s warm up the thread. What Penn’s program do you guys really like?
They have a solid engineering program and a unparalleled business program. I’m not well versed in their other programs.
@siriusly11 Was there anyhting special about your friend to make up for the 1700 SAT?
Why care so much about 1700 SAT? There is no point… Penn will not accept you because of 1700 SAT but because you are a well-rounded person.
@Buttmuncher321 My friends was really well rounded. Her essays were really good as well as her grades. Her ECs were great too. My high school wasn’t big on tests so our scores weren’t the best but a lot of people still got into penn. i think they’ll care about more than just your test scores. Dont worry.
Anyone apply to Wharton?
@cornell1203 @Buttmuncher321 If Cornell wants you, they won’t care too much about a low SAT score. Remember it is a holistic process which means everything is taken into account and no single thing will keep you out. And if they like something about you they won’t reject you if everything else is okay.
Do you mean Penn? I agree that the process is holistic and they won’t immediately reject you. I do believe though with low test scores your other components need to be stellar to balance out the application.
@blackwidow22 wait when did we start talking about Cornell? R u at Cornell Rn?
has anyone received any acceptances/rejections yet? a lot of schools have started to release their first batch’s of admissions this past week
Penn’s decisions aren’t rolling so they will all be released at the same time for everyone, most likely the first or second week of May
Last year the release date was May 5th, hopefully it remains the same this year.
Right in the middle of my finals week…yaaaaaay hahaha
@YonceKnowles what school did you transfer from?
@matrix829 Ohio State
