Hey guys,
I saw that there was a thread mainly composed of students who applied and made the March 1 deadline, So I was wondering if there was a group for the May 1 deadline. Has anyone heard back that submitted their application after Jan 15??

Hello friend,
I’ve been on this forum for the last two weeks on a daily basis and I think I’ve seen enough posts to know how it works now. The earliest date people found out the result the past two years was April 20th, and some people found out 24th, 29th but most of them found out May1st or May 2nd. Even the email requesting for an interview seem to be sent end of April. But the wait is killinggggggggggggggg me. I have a white board in my room that states"D-day 26" Good luck to everyone!
Yeah the wait is killing me as well. What are your stats?
I had a 89 out of 100 in highschool, and I had 32 on ACT with 1480 combined SAT with two SAT II in math 2c(770) and US history (680). Was a high school volleyball captain and then went to the university of Rochester with a full ride and like many of us I stopped going to classes and failed out with a 1.3 GPA. Not knowing what to do in life, I decided to attend the Korean military to figure out what to do in life and get my dual citizenship.(I was not obliged to go). Had leadership roles in the army and did some translation work during joint training with the US army. I decided to reapply to Rochester, got in, and had issues with my financial aid because it was the first time applying as head of household and eventually was registered into my classes almost a month late, I couldn’t catch up and left the school. I was so bitter with myself but my parents were even more disappointed and decided to cut all ties with me and I spent the next 7 months homeless, sleeping around Rochester campus until I decided to contact an old employer who took me in and found me a place to live. I worked there during the summer until I found a connection there to work as a clothing store manager in Brooklyn for a year and there I decided to go back to school and now I have a 4.0 GPA with 19 credits taken at my community college and I am taking 22 credits this semester. I am also in a fellowship at school learning about “comfort women” during WWII and I work part time at school as a student adviser. I am just a bit worried that I didn’t take enough credits at my school to see that I am “trustworthy” enough to accept. Well 2 weeks leftttt. Even if I don’t get in this semester, I am most likely just going to reapply after this semester.
Awesome story man, it seems as if you’ve really turned things around. Cheers to the best of luck for the both of us.
I called the office of admissions and asked if there was any update to my application and all they said was that I’d receive a decision my May 1st. Has anyone else done this?
I just called today morning and apologized them for asking the same questions as every person calling and she was nice about it and told me my application is still under review and will be notified by may 1st…well at least there’s only a maximum of 10 days to wait now…the forum is awfully quiet compared to other years. everyone is probably just super nervous to hear back…:[
I didn’t even get the “under review”. She just said I’d be noticed by May 1st. I’m going nuts over here.
Hey everyone! I know that you are all waiting for the next deadline on May 1st. I was waiting for the March 1st deadline myself this year, and I know how hard the wait can be. I was basically unapproachable the whole week before I heard back because I was such a nervous wreck. But after all that worrying, the results were still the same. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry about what you will hear in the weeks to come because it is completely out of your control at this point. Also, don’t expect news before May 1st. They seem to be waiting until the day of to release the results this year, as all of us on here that were waiting on March 1st heard back basically at the exact same time. To prevent yourself from a let down, I would not get your expectations high for hearing back any earlier than 5:00 PM on May 1st.
I can also tell you that my stats personally weren’t very impressive at all, yet I received an acceptance. I only had about 6 recent classes with good grades, and the rest were just old really really bad grades. I think the only thing that really helped me with admissions was my essay - which I worked on for months - and my military experience. My academics were by no means impressive. I really feel that if I could get in, anyone can. I hope that helps some of you feel better who are probably way better off academically than I was.
This makes me feel a lot better. I’m still terrified m, but at last I know not hearing yet isn’t absolutely bad news.
@nygs7792 Did you take the GSAE or did you already have the SAT? I had a good essay and good grades but dont think that i did too well on the GSAE.
@Gardenofbeasts I had a 30 on the ACT
I took the GSAE. Wondering if that was to my disadvantage.
Hey guys, I’ve been here checking the threads daily. I just have not been logged in. Only about a week left!
@nygs7792 great advice bro.
One week to go guys. I’m excited!
I’m going to pass out
Good luck to everyone here. We are less than a week out!
Has anyone received an interview or anything?
YA’LL QUIET
Just got an email saying that my application has been updated. ACCEPTED!!!
I hope everyone gets in!
