Hello everyone! I am currently a rising high school senior who is trying to collect as much info as possible on the universities that I am planning on attending. I am curious about UTD’s Naveen Jindall School of Management, but I have almost no idea as to when the application dates start, end, and what will make the best candidate for that school. I am on track to get automatic admission into UTD but am concerned about the business school as that is my target area.
Any information on application dates and what basically to do when will be much appreciated! Thanks!
I do believe applications open Aug. 1st but there is no problem submitting your application anytime in the fall. If you are an automatic admit, you will be admitted to NJSM. As far as I know of, they have not capped admittance to any major. That might be coming in the future but more in the CS/Engineering area. The one advantage to submitting in the Aug - Oct time frame is acceptance to honors (which is a separate application opening in Nov.) and scholarship consideration (which I think the initial mailings go out in Dec.) That is not to say you cannot get into honors or get scholarships if you apply later but they do limit the number of students in honors and as far as scholarships, it is always best to be on the front end.
Thanks! I found this useful to my planning of applications! Real MVP!
Apply early so you’ll get scholarship considerations earlier.
Also be careful about the honors program. The professor for BLAW honors is a good teacher but bad grader in that he grades competitively; i.e. some people will get As and some people will get Cs and Ds. And some times, the difference between a B+ and C- is not that big. Every year, there are always some smart and studious student who have to take this class over.
So far the honors program has worked well for my DD. They do give them priority for registration and housing. You can pick and choose which honors classes you want to take, so it would be best just to take a different professor for the BLAW class. It sounds like he grades like professors at UT Austin. One poor girl last year had an A brought down to a B because there was too many higher A’s in the class.
if we’re talking about DMHP, he/she can’t pick the honors classes. BLAW Honors is required and there’s only one prof who teaches it. And business honor program (DMHP) doesn’t give any priority for registration. CV does.
I was referring to CV, not dept. honors. Under dept. honors, you are required to take certain courses from specific professors. Supposedly, they are the better professors and offer better opportunities.
