Fall 2017 Transfer Thread

is anyone going to appeal if they dont get in? can we??

I was considering it, but I feel I recall reading that they don’t accept appeals for transfers…

@godawgs1043 just rumors. I have spoken to an admissions counselor before applying and he highly encouraged appealing, as they don’t see/ hear about the quarters after you’ve applied.

ps-- been following this thread for awhile and I still have not heard from UW Sea… lol sux. I’ve been contacting them to change my application a lot so they know who I am, but I probably won’t hear for awhile, or I got denied. Put my app as Public Health or Anthropology but didn’t apply to majors.

Haven’t heard anything either… I haven’t heard anything from them at all since I applied (no questions on app, transcripts), don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. I applied as an in state transfer from CC as a Bus Admin major but wasn’t able to apply to Foster for the fall because I hadn’t completed Calc at the time of my app. I contacted Admissions and they said they would note my app but now I’m starting to think it may have hurt my app.

It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t heard anything from them… although if they’re going to reject me, really wish they’d just go ahead and get it over with.

@crismay I’m an anthropology major as well and haven’t heard back. You don’t have to apply to the major though for anthropology since it’s an open major. Assuming you do the Med anth/global health track since you put public health as your other major?

@bumble934 same!! We could have another month before we find out too. If I didn’t get in, I wish they’d just let me know.

I’m a in-state business major (not done with my AA yet) still waiting to hear back from them. I check this thread every day to see if anyone else has been accepted.

@godawgs1043 did you get an email from them back in May about the Martin Foundation scholarship? Has anyone else? That’s the only communication I’ve received from UW since I applied. I was hoping it might be a good sign but now that we’re in July, I’m not so sure. It is super frustrating, I went ahead and accepted another university because their deadline was July 1st though I was hoping to have a response from UW sooner so I wouldn’t have to. Not to mention so many of the classes being full and then stressing about living arrangements. Grrrr!

I did receive one, yes. I had the same thoughts. So true about the classes, I don’t know how many I’ll be able to get in to if I do get accepted. I live about 30 miles from UW so I’ll probably just commute because it’s doable until I find a better housing deal, but this is so stressful and I only have to worry about classes. If you get into UW, will you go there?

@karenngo fosters? I know someone who got accepted a few weeks back. Remarkable student, probably a 4.0, if not at least a 3.9, super rigorous work, first generation. The guy could probably get into an ivy league honestly, so not surprised.

@niki9223 I applied for engineering too. Didn’t get a decision yet

I received my acceptance letter in the mail yesterday. Working towards a BFA: Painting + Drawing, AA-S Transfer GPA 3.88. My essay wasn’t the strongest, but maybe they were looking for an older/non-traditional student to round out the student body? Either way, I’m excited to finally be on my way. Good luck to all of you!

Has anyone else heard anything? @godawgs1043 , UW is definitely my first choice but I am getting things lined up with another university so I’m not left hanging if UW rejects me.

If you don’t get accepted, they email you or mail you a rejection letter, correct? They don’t just leave you hanging?

@godawgs1043 Yeah, you will definitely get some sort of notification. I have been reading through the threads, and I find it weird that you have not gotten anything by now. I applied after the due date, got into UW and the business school. I got into the school last month and July 5th for the business school.
-In state CC transfer
-90+ credits w/ AA DTA
-3.8 college GPA
-Decent essay
-Fall 2017

Is everyone still waiting a “low-level transfer” with less than 60 credits? I only have 27 and I know it’s harder to get in so that’s probably why i personally haven’t heard back/may not get in. But I definitely still wanted to apply just to give myself that chance. But it could be a reason for all the other people still waiting too… Here are my stats
-out of state transfer 4-year (University of Miami)
-27 credits
-3.7 college GPA
-4.3 high school GPA (they look if you’re considered low-level)
-solid essay
-pre health studies major
-Fall 2017

Im still waiting for a reply from uw too as a transfer! I have like 30 some credits so I had to send in my high school transcripts too. Its really frusterating to wait for the results when it is already midway July

Still waiting on my response as well. I’m an in-state transfer from Spokane, 3.45 GPA (I did Running Start in high school ten years ago and had a 2.1, brought it up to 3.45 with lots of 4.0s over the last 2 years), 90 transferable credits, with a strong essay.
It’s frustrating waiting, I am out of lease and need to either find a bigger place here, or get on the waitlist for family housing at UW. It’s awful being stuck in limbo!
Called admissions today and they said they are coming up on the end of the notification period and that they review and send notifications in waves (it’s possible they haven’t reviewed some applications yet??). I applied early in January, though I’m not sure application date makes a difference on when they review.
Has anyone heard back that they did not get in?

I had to send my HS transcripts in and I’m transferring 90+ credits with an AA.
