FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

when do they announce the regents scholarship?

@msipmia Hey! Sorry for the confusion. On my assist page from my college, it states that “The UCLA Psychology Department prefers that you complete a statistics course to meet the Quantitative Reasoning major requirement.” So instead of just sticking with my calculus (which would’ve fulfilled this requirement) I took an additional introduction to statistics class this semester (finishing now in Spring). I don’t know if it really helped but better safe than sorry! Good luck to you!!

Those of you who can view financial aid, did you submit any documents other than a FAFSA?

Rejected!! Damnn this is not a good sign for April 28th

Major: Computer Science
UC GPA: 3.93
Major GPA: 4.0
IGETC: No

I guess my lack of EC’s and not so trong essays were the problem…Anw congrats to everyone who made it through!!

@JohnMacintosh Thanks for the reply. So it doesn’t mean that he didn’t complete/the course he took was not accepted as transferrable, right? It’s just there as a reminder(?) that IGETC needs to be completed…kind of?

@junemoon Oh! Thanks for the clarification. I’m only taking stats so hopefully, it’s not bad that I’m not taking any calc. Congrats on your acceptance!

Can anyone tell me about the viability of a CS major nowadays? I get that it’s in demand, but it seems like EVERYONE is doing it and soone ror later the market will be over-saturated. Especially since you can learn a lot of it on your own without school.

@celaeno – As an older student at UCLA, it makes me happy to hear that other non-trads are attending! *high 5

@bigvoot. I don’t think we should get a C lol. Maybe if we get a C they still accept us but let’s not take a chance. I’m aiming for an 80 percent lol.

If you guys want to view your Award Letter you first have to create a myUCLA account with the student ID provided in your acceptance letter. Then go here http://www.my.ucla.edu/. Once you sign in, the first page should have a link called, “View your Financial Aid Provisional Award Letter”. Once there, click, “View My Award”.

@uhhcheese Yes. That reminder only serves for people who are completing any of those classes right now i.e. they didn’t finish the classes this semester and received a grade for it. If IGETC was completed prior to this semester, it means that there is nothing to worry about as all of those classes are already completed. If he was accepted, it means that the classes are transferable.

@SunandSound I made an account and did all of that, when I click on " View your Financial Aid Provisional Award Letter" it says “your Provisional Award Letter (PAL) is not available at this time.” When I got admitted to UC Davis last week, it showed all my Financial Aid information so I don’t know why LA won’t show it.
