@littlebuns i got in for Ling too!!!

TAP: No

IGETC: No

Accepted: UCD, UCI, UCSD, UCLA

Pretty low GPA for my major, but I had an admissions officer from Berkeley revise my essays. They really matter guys, good luck to those of you reading these forums one year from now!

@goldenheart hey!!! congrats my fellow history major  I was wondering if you were admitted as a History major or a Pre-History major!

@uclahopeful2017 Yes, 250. I’m like to apply was already 70 bucks, now we gotta pay 250 to say yes to OUR acceptance. Haha, I’d gladly pay, but damn.

One quick question, on my financial aid package I saw this:
FEDERAL PELL GRANT

$5,920
CAL GRANT A
$12,630

Is this the amount that I’ll be getting? Because I didn’t have Cal grant in community college. I did not attend high school in the US by the way.

@IAmNotARobot33 he posted his provisional, which said to only report if he got two or more Cs, or one C in a major course. If his stats is only for IGETC and not a major req (which is what i believe he said), then his C in stats is ok. If you look further up somewhere you’ll see his post.

Your provisional, on the other hand, says a B is needed in stats. Provisionals are not the same person to person.

the berkeley transfer thread is soooo dry compared to this one

@mariahlopez1 yes, that is all money you wont have to pay back. I received a cal grant as well

ACCEPTED!

Major: Pre Sociology
GPA: 3.7
Prerequisites: Completed!
IGETC: Completed!
Essays: Good, I guess lol. I wrote about both college and high school experiences.
Admitted: UCSD, SDSU, UCI, and now UCLA!!!
Awaiting: UCB
ECs: Part-time job working for Girl Scouts, Student Government, High School currics (yearbook editor, tennis captain, key club president)

I also had a mishap with my stats class where I accidentally enrolled in two and got a B in one and an F in the other. I also had 1 C, the rest A’s, B’s, and some D’s and F’s in non-transferable math classes - so it REALLY must be true that the UC does not look at your non-transferable grades. However, I’m glad they understood my situation with the F in stats because I was really stressed about it. I explained the situation in the comments section though so they really do think about what you write there too! (just some info for future transfers)

QUESTION THOUGH!
When I applied I forgot to add a course. The course is a math class that is non-transferable and I got a W in it, so it doesn’t even calculate into my GPA. It shouldn’t be a big deal, but anyone have an idea of what I should do to amend this? I already sent an email. I’m going to try to call admissions tomorrow (hopefully their line isn’t going off the hook due to the decisions being released today). I looked at the make changes option on the portal, but it doesn’t seem to address my particular issue.

Rejected

@mariahlopez1 CC students who qualify for Cal Grant A don’t receive that grant while in CC. It’s held in reserve until you transfer to a four year institution, which is why you’re getting it now in your UC financial aid letter. But yes, all grants, including pell grant and university grants, are money you don’t have to pay back!

Does anyone know if we can meet with a counselor if we go to campus now that decisions are out? I have some questions about my major and stuff that I wanna know before I commit to UCLA.

@JohnMacintosh @Zer0xfourD For engineering, if you do the full IGETC, then you will get credit for the Engineering GEs. If you do partial, then the courses you took may satisfy some GEs if they’re equivalent. For example, if you took a sociology course that’s equivalent to UCLA’s Sociology 1, then you’ll receive credit for Sociology 1 and the GE category that course fulfills (Social Analysis). Engineering only has 5 GEs, so even if you didn’t complete all of IGETC, you likely only have a few left to fulfill anyway.

ACCEPTED!

Buz Econ! GPA 3.9
Congrats to everyone who got in!

@EatingSushi - from my decision page, I copied and pasted:

“UCLA received nearly 22,000 applications for a class of just under 3,200 transfer students, so admission this year was exceptionally competitive.”

It seems like they’re saying that they accepted just under 3,200 people for the 2019 Transfer class, but I could be misreading it. However, if that’s true, that’s much lower than last year.

I don’t feel a particular way about it, all I can say is ???

for those who stalked the 2016 transfer thread, did you happen to see anything about people making it off the waitlist?

another way i interpreted that message was “we plan on having a class/yield of 3,200 transfer students” so perhaps they admitted more than this with the expectation that some would not attend? or did they really just accept 3,200 and from there expect to perhaps only get 2000 students attending?

@otoribashi i remember seeing a few people make it off the waitlist

thanks @lavaliente and @phil067 . My friend still had cal grant when she was in ccc. But when I submitted the cal grant application (https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov), it said I did not qualify for cal grant. I’m confused?!!
