anyone have opinions on LA vs Berkeley for the humanities?
hey guys… I got in with a 3.66 for Global studies. I had really good essays and volunteered for the Obama campaign director in CA while working full time. I only applied to UCLA and Cal. We’ll see what happens… but it just feels good all the hard work and effort are finally rewarded.

Finally have the courage to go to this thread. Was rejected last night you guys. It’s been a hell of a ride and I needed last night to just process and be sad about it. Thank God I didn’t give into my temptations of checking until I got home, even if it was agonizing for me. I got angry and sad for a bit but now I feel better. The sting is there but seeing everyone get accepted makes me so happy and I wish you all the best of luck. May periodically check in with some of you all and I’m interested in keeping in touch regardless of what schools we end up going to. God works in mysterious ways and while the UCLA Dream was beautiful, it was not the one He designed for me. Again, congratulations to all the new Bruins and to those who got rejected, we WILL get through this! Life sometimes doesn’t pan out the way we want it, but I guarantee you that like give or take five years down the line, we’ll be exactly where we need to be.

hey guys，I’m confused which school should I choose. Right now I got in UCLA as linguistic computer science major. And I got in UCI with computer science major. I know UCLA has a high ranking than UCI. But I am worried that if I choose to go to UCLA, I can’t choose courses from computer science upper division. Any suggestions here?
I’m planning on taking summer classes…school is my main source of income.
@Eunie314 Yeah, you could definitely try. However, I believe Business Economics is highly, highly impacted so they probably won’t accept anymore students.
do you guys know how hard it is to change majors once enrolled?
@andtherewaslight I’ve been watching YouTube vids on it and most of them say it depends on how impacted the major you want to change into is and how many requirements of it you’ve finished.

@NawarJ I saw an option in myucla under the new students tab. I clicked it and it said that I’m not qualified
@Eunie314 I think it really depends on what your extracurriculars were and how your essay was for whether or not you should appeal. Like have you had a job or done community service? Also for your essay, did you write about how you overcame an obstacle and how it made you better?
