FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

Anyone Get accepted to econ or business econ?

@Happy2Help Are there any UCLA roommate apps? I know it’s early, but I don’t want to end up picking last minute for housing, roommates, etc. I can’t find anything this year haha

Did you have all prereqs done before you submitted your application? @jonathaanv I have managerial accounting that I am taking in fall and I don’t wanna get rejected

stats? @enpz45 Did you have all of your prereqs completed before you submitted your app? (Financial. Acc, Managerial Acc., Calc I II, etc.)

@LynAmmo from what I recall, when you apply for housing, you answer a series of questions, which allows the system to match you with similarly minded students. This doesn’t always work, though. I can think of 3 students very close to me, whose roommate situation through this method, didn’t work out.

I encourage you to find your people starting in this thread, perhaps by major. I feel that having your major in common, will be beneficial because you can study together, you might have a couple of the same classes, etc.

Also learn about the different housing options. Go over to [this thread](** Read Before Starting New Housing Thread** - University of California - Los Angeles - College Confidential Forums) for some more info.

ETA and the other Facebook pages and groups! (search with the words, “UCLA housing”)

@LynAmmo you can always give the roommate search group on FB a shot!

Congrats @lexluther96 Its like were applying to the exact schools LOL

So I applied and was denied

CC Student, first year
Major: Math/Econ or Finance
GPA: 3.81
Applied: UCI, UCSB, UCLA, UCSD
Accepted: UCI, UCSB
Denied: UCSD, UCLA

First off, UCLA has been my dream school for years. I thought I was a perfect candidate for them this year with my relatively high GPA for the major and all. I talked to UCLA about why I was denied and was told I am currently taking too many major courses, since I am taking 3 math courses and an econ course, all of which are pre-reqs. I have since completed one of those math classes and have A’s and B’s throughout my midterm grades. I plan on appealing the decision as I am working very hard so that I can transfer this fall. Wish me luck.

@LynAmmo hey! if you find something like a roommate search, hit me up please! I haven’t submitted my SIR yet, but I’m 95% sure that ill be attending!

I haven’t submitted my SIR yet, but I just got an e-mail from UCLA housing to submit an application for guaranteed housing. Anyone else receive that e-mail?

@cyclicalhype I got that too!

I sir’ed and submitted my housing application, bruincard application, registered for bruin day,…all yesterday. I was overly high I think lmao. And yes, I just received the email today.

@andrewjchang AWESOME! I didn’t submit my SIR yet but I bought UCLA t shirts and caps.

@VivianChy Well… I don’t think over 90units matters bcuz I had over 90…almost 100!.. and I got accepted.
As he got denied by other schools too… with 4.0… then there should be something wrong with the application…
I guess…even though Econ major is one of the capped majors, I’ve seen 3.5 getting into UCSD. 3.7-3.8getting accetped to UCLA.
Or there might be something that UCs mistakend…? I think it’ll be best for him to appeal.
Did he finish his pre-reqs?

@Tik1127 in that case never mind… how about minoring into something else you’re interested in ? are transfers allowed to ?

I need your help!
My boyfriend got denied with 4.0 GPA as well as @Vivanchy 's boyfriend did…
Can you guys decide…or give advice if he should appeal or not?
It’ll be great if he gets into UCB tmrw though.

Do we have to SIR before we can turn in our housing application and register for orientation?

Feeling envious with these guys whose girlfriends are so caring for them.

Hope we find our future girlfriends at UCLA.

@uclahopeful2017 you can’t submit housing until you submit your SIR
