@myrideordie Jeez are you sure? Unless you’re super rich you should at least get something. I know they have middle class scholarship that they award, cal grant, etc.
So I applied and was denied
Major: Math/Econ or Finance
GPA: 3.81
Applied: UCI, UCSB, UCLA, UCSD
Accepted: UCI, UCSB
Denied: UCSD, UCLA
First off, UCLA has been my dream school for years. I thought I was a perfect candidate for them this year with my relatively high GPA for the major and all. I talked to UCLA about why I was denied and was told I am currently taking too many major courses, since I am taking 3 math courses and an econ course, all of which are pre-reqs. I have since completed one of those math classes and have A’s and B’s throughout my midterm grades. I plan on appealing the decision as I am working very hard so that I can transfer this fall. Wish me luck.
they didn’t give me anything in financial aid yet bc i need to submit some supplemental forms since my parents are married but have file taxes separately )))): i’m so stressed and worried that i’m not gonna receive anything at all and that my parents will tell me i can’t go bc of this. they obviously would never, but idk why i’m so stressed. this acceptance is too good to be true probably, i still can’t believe it.
@cmdchavezz Same thing with me! I think that’s the link. My parent filed separately as well, so I’m just following the instructions to get them the information by the June 16th due date.
Dude hahaha you’re a comedian @bigvoot
@TransfertoUCLA Yes appeal. I think that he has good enough stats and I could take an educated guess that UCLA probably has a deadline to which classes can or can not be done to determine stats. Do UCLA transfer applicants need to submit grades for the fall semester in which they are applying? @TransfertoUCLA Answer this and I will help you more
Is anyone going to a May 12th pre-bruin day thing like MECHA or Black Bruin Extravaganza? Also is anyone going to AAP Scholars Day during Bruin Day? The original sign up said 10:30-12 or something but the email said 10am-3pm unless I read incorrectly…did anyone else see that if you’ve registered already?
GUYS!! just had it confirmed to me by UCLA that the reason I was wait listed was because I’m finishing up two go my prereqs right now. Hopefully this helps someone
@amunroeee that is a good sign. After you get your grades, send them an unofficial copy and ask them to reconsider you!
ETA if you’ll get grades after June 1, you may have to SIR somewhere else by June 1. You can contact Admissions about this.
Does anyone know if it’s ok and who to contact to know the reason for your rejection ?
@amunroeee who did you contact to be notified of that?
My counselor reached out to her TAP contact at UCLA @uscdream19
@amunroeee hmm do you recommend I just send out an email to admissions ?
@uscdream19 That’s what I did on wednesday but no response yet. Couldn’t hurt!
@AJack33 haven’t heard about any of those but they sound like their worth while let me know more about it. DM me on ig @Hgthree
has anyone heard back from cal or know what time we hear back?
Hey everyone, I couldn’t find the answer to this on the UCLA website so I’m hoping someone here knows! Is it possible to pay for dorm housing one quarter at a time? Like can I live on campus for fall quarter, leave for winter, come back for spring?
Welcome new Bruins! Feel free to send me PMs and I’ll try to answer questions that I have answers for. Congratulations.
@ParadoxicalFire
I have never heard of that, and I get the feeling it is not possible. You can pay monthly, quarterly, or financial aid quarterly. If you leave you have to go through a termination process and your position goes up for grabs for potential waitlisters and you would probably have to get on the list again. Usually spots open up in Winter and Spring but obviously you would have to break contacts with apartments or find a short sublease.
For the TSP program how do you know what classes to register for?
