FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@LockeandLoad what EC’s did you have if you don’t mind me asking?

@DonaldDuck12 What were your EC’s if you don’t mind me asking?

Anyone know if it’s a problem that I deferred from Davis last year, never took classes there, and now got accepted to UCLA? Didn’t tell Davis about UCLA, or UCLA about Davis. Didn’t think I needed to. Now I’m really worried suddenly. Davis is expecting me there in the fall. Still haven’t decided which campus to go to; ideally I’d SIR to UCLA and have the choice of both but that’s probably unrealistic.

@sarah38

Have you thought about attending both Davis and UCLA? I mean, you can have classes at Davis on M-W and at UCLA T-TR. The commute might be a problem, but imagine getting a degree from both at the same time?!?

Okay, seriously. All the school’s have different policies. Since your deferment has been a year now, I believe it is OKAY to say goodbye to UC Davis and hello to UCLA. You just have to let UC Davis know and you should probably get up in the morning and call them. Tell them, I was admitted for Fall 2016, but I deferred and I never attended. I decided to apply to different universities, which I was admitted and I would rather go there. There shouldn’t be a problem.

Let us know what happens next. Best of luck.

@Tik1127 You’d think it would be okay to switch, but worrying is my favorite thing to do. If I get this resolved tomorrow, I’ll just find something else to worry about and probably post it here. I should probably quit school and go live in the woods.

@sarah38

The last academic who gave up education and moved to the woods was Ted Kaczynski. You don’t want to do that.

There really isn’t anything to worry about. Just call them in the morning and resolve it tomorrow and you’ll have the entire weekend with a clear mind.

I have a question. I enrolled a fitness class this semester, and I got a C. But before I have filled out a pass/no pass form to cover that GPA. Does it work? Will UC view it?

Besides, that class is 1 unit.

Anyone still debating between Cal and UCLA? :-S

Any bizecon majors here looking to room for the UCLA subsidized apts? Already submitted my housing app, I can update it with your housing username.

@Tik1127 UC Davis unavailable to answer my question today, so called UCLA and told them I had already SIR’d to Davis 1 year ago and ‘can I still choose between them?’ They said no problem, just choose before June 1st, write Davis a.s.a.p. but when we got down to the details the rep said even if I notify Davis of the desire to cancel my admission the same day that I SIR to UCLA, it will be fine. They just don’t want to see 2 SIRs. On another note, they actually said “Having 2 SIRs will raise questions and make them come back to you with the need for an explanation”. They didn’t say it would automatically oust you from both colleges! I think that people on the internet can be a little intense (not referring to this thread, however). Thanks for your support Tik1127!

@NawarJ My major is Neuroscience. I’m in LA right now, staying at a hotel on WIlshire. Had a tour of the campus today, fucking amazing. Better than Berkeley for sure.

@gotoucla be careful with P/NP option, at my school if you choose P/NP, you have to get 75% or more for the class to get a P.

I’m super interested to hear about how Bruin Day went!! Anyone want to share so I can live vicariously I’d love to hear about it.

@NawarJ So glad to hear that you loved it but a little jealous b/c I couldn’t go. Care to elaborate?

I find the campus to be way smaller than berkeley. I don’t know if i like that or not haha but I loved the meal freakin good!!! No wonder they are the #2 in nation. Im at Bruin day and there are a lot of activities and… a lot of cute asian girls :)))

Awhhh sounds fun :(( wish I could have gone, but too many assignments to do to risk getting too many Cs or failing the final :-SS

I’m deciding if I should apply for housing or find an apartment with roommates off campus. Regardless of costs, how hard is it to get an single room in University Apartments?

Bruin day was really nice! The campus is awesome and all of the people there were helpful. I did a lot of walking with the campus tour and the housing tour. RIP my legs

@ADADAD05 Apply for housing now so you can get your first choice, if you decide later that’s not what you want to do then proceed from there. But you don’t want to apply late and be stuck with the last or most expensive options. My opinion.
