@UCSBtoUCLA I applied today! Not alone!
Also, thank you @Negative273c for the reply- I got myself on the phone and AAP was super helpful!
My school is taking forever to process the spring grades so I have to wait till like mid-june for them to finally be sent out and processed :-<
OMG same! Haha
@gskDreams Hopefully there’s still space. They actually sent out acceptance emails today.
Ok that’s great! Yay! Looking forward to seeing you there then
@Happy2Help If we take summer classes are we able to move into the dorm before the summer session starts?
@bigvoot if you contract for a dorm during the summer then yes I believe so, but it isn’t the same assignment as your fall housing.
If you don’t have transcripts in from June 1st for prior fall to 2016 are you f*cked and lose admission? I totally messed up and didnt notice that I thought everything had to be in July 1
OMG IM PANICKING!!!
@eruditehooper I’m sure it’s happened before. I’d overnight them, call on Monday and let them know, follow up with an email and ask for forgiveness.
Does anyone know when they send out housing offers? And how are they sending it? To your email or by mail???
Does anyone know if they take your bruin card photo at orientation? the person who called said to upload your own photo but the restrictions are hard to follow (no shadows, no wall pattern behind you, only a solid white background)
@muveemaniac96
Here is what the official website says:
“If you are unable to complete the online photo application in time, you can get your Bruincard in person at the BruinCard Center when you attend New Student Orientation. You must take your photo at the BruinCard Center and present a U.S. Government issued photo ID (U.S. Driver’s License, Passport with U.S. Visa, U.S. Military ID, etc.). Please be prepared to wait in a lengthy line!”
I took a picture of myself with my phone in a well-lit area, in front of a white closet door (lol) and it was approved. It’s not too difficult! But no worries, it seems like they do take pictures at orientation.
Should we be planning our courses we are considering to take during summer/fall before the orientation? Or do they go over all these plannings at the orientation?
@bigvoot If you’re planning on taking summer classes you should enroll now and apply for both summer housing and summer financial aid.
Once the Fall schedule is releaaed and prior to orientation, you should plan out several combinations of classes and possible different schedules, in case one or more classes are full. Also note that some classes are cross provided, such that a class under one department may also be offered under another department.
I took my picture for my Bruin Card at orientation. They gave it to me nearly right away.
Is it too late to apply to financial aid for summer at ucla? How do I do it?
Besides our courses for the major, do we need to take any other courses? How do we know which ones? I’m a poli sci major so I know I have to take certain classes from certain areas of the major… but is there an upper division equivalent of IGETC? Like will I be doing music and art or geography etc too?
does anyone know when housing offers will be sent out??
Look in the UCLA catalog and your departments website for major requirement’s.
Right before your orientation date, you should generate and check your Degree Audit Report where your transcripts have been recorded and where your remaining requirements will be listed. There is no IGETC for upper division courses but if you wanted to take an upper division elective such as a music class, you may need some lower division prerequisites.
