Fall 2018 admissions

Still nothing as of the 18th…

@pikachu2018 maybe you can ask your school counselor to find out for you, my DD’s HS counselor was able to find out the reason why she (and other 3.0 above gpa local high school students) got rejected.

Rejected :frowning:
Weighted GPA: 4.0
SAT: 1300
EI Index is quite high
In-state, not local…pretty sure that’s why I was rejected.

What major? @vyominee

@mom2adancer me too… says my application was sent for review

Did did you find out today?

Still nothing here… she’s in-state but not local, fine arts major, with an EI in the neighborhood of 4600-4700.

I’m really confused with these rejections… How are people with high stats getting rejected??

@jjkmom Thank you very much for your suggestion. I appreciate it. I will ask my counselor to help me figure our the reason. I’m wondering should I write an appeal letter as I know the decisions are are rarely overturned . Will you appeal?

My counselor says the submitted Long Beach application was missing current senior year in-progress classes and this was the reason for the denial, so the fault is 100% mine.

I haven’t heard anything back either and I’m starting to think I didn’t get accepted because everyone I know has gotten accepted or rejected

Has anyone with a political science major been accepted? I’m stating to think they send out by major.

@mgh516
More than likely, your are competitive in EI and they are working the list to the decision in the Major. Many people are in the same boat with 1-2 rounds to go! Best of Luck

I contacted CSULB and was told that if my daughter has not been rejected yet then that means the university is waiting to hear the results of he BFA audition. So she is still in the running!

Your application is currently under review. We will notify you by email should we need any additional documents. Please be sure to respond to requests for documents as soon as possible, but no later than the specified deadline. We will make every effort to provide you with a timely decision. Please be sure to check your email regularly for messages from CSULB regarding any admissions decisions, upcoming deadlines or required documents.

I’ve been getting this response for over a week.

@calstates
Should I be concerned that I haven’t heard anything ?

@mgh516

My daughter is in the same boat with the email that came before this one above, it will come down to your

on the list weighed against the # of seats left. If it becomes full, you would be offered wait-list if your close to the EI line and then (CSULB) will have you wait for declines to offer wait-listed. people. For now, your still in the running for Accepted! ,

@Calstates
Thank you so much ! I know so many people with above 4.0 who are getting rejected and I definently have lower than that so I’m surprised I haven’t been straight up rejected yet.

@mom2adancer Don’t worry, I haven’t gotten rejected/accepted yet and I’m a Music Education major. I’m guessing they’re waiting to hear the results of my audition too, so the majors that require an audition probably take longer to get our results out ;-;, I hope all the best for your daughter!

I doubt they’re sending out by major, there are a few Computer Science applicants that have been accepted/rejected and I have yet to get a response from CSULB other than me ‘meeting the minimum CSU requirements’ and now being in the ‘competitive process’. So yeah… I’ll pray for both of us (If applicable) ;:wink: .
