…so a friend and I have applied for the same major, Comp Sci, and we’re both transfer students. He is an ‘international’ student and I am not. He was admitted via email this week. Do they put priority on International students before admitting In-State students?
So frustrating when they are still giving out acceptances to transfer students and leave all of these freshman with no decisions. Something tells me they will wait until mid april as they have said previously.
Agreed… I was looking through some of the previous year admissions and it doesn’t look like this is the first time they waited until the last minute. I can’t remember which thread I saw it on but on one of them it mentioned that they were really selective one year and then had to ask people who they previously denied that to go to the school since they didn’t account for the number of incoming student would actually accept their offer. On another thread I also read that a few years back they actually said all admissions decisions would come out by mid May when the deadline to accept/decline for schools was May 1st which would mess with a lot of incoming freshmen’s plans. I hope what I read isn’t true but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is and it’s really sad to know that
Unfortunately, CPP has always been notoriously slow with all admissions. It is a very good school but they really to need revamp their admissions department. Same thing every year where they just drag out the decisions. Best of luck to all.
I called Admissions yesterday and was told that all decisions would be out within the next two weeks. I specifically asked if all acceptances were out and are those of us “pending” just waiting to get rejected. She insisted that there are still acceptances to come. I wonder if this is true. I don’t want to give up hope, but I also want to be realistic.
Thanks for the info SBMamaBear! Visited the campus yesterday and was very impressed! It is a beautiful, sprawling campus and my son is hoping that he will be hearing of an acceptance into Mech Eng soon!
Hi Leo7499 I was wondering if you could tell me your son’s gpa and sat scores since it is my dream to get in for architecture and I am still waiting. My sat is 1330 and gpa is 3.8 weighted do you think I’ll get in?
patientengineer: Our fingers are crossed for my son; also an ME major! Let’s hope both our boys have good news SOON! CPP is my son’s 1st choice (after a denial from Cal Poly SLO). If this doesn’t work out, Fullerton is a good option. Did your son apply there too?
SBMamaBear- my son was also denied at SLO. He was accepted at SJSU, SDSU, Sac State. He did not apply to Fullerton. Good luck!
