I’m a transfer and still have no response from Cal Poly Pomona so I’m just staying positive since if they would of denied us wouldn’t they have already
Anyone got admitted for nutrition major? If ya, wt is ur GPA? I’m local school (Mt Sac), shouldn’t be got admitted sooner than non local? My cpp portal did not update since 12/13/17; it said application received and under review. So nervous about it.
Hey guys I applied to CPP on time for fall session 2018 for Mechanical Engineering. Has anyone been accepted. I am stressing out because this is one of my top choice colleges and I need to make a decision soon. Thanks
I applied for fall 2018 comp sci and have not heard back yet.
Crossing my fingers decisions will be out tomorrow like they were last year
@Bean981 same here
My son has been waitlisted at UCSC, UCI and UCR for Computer Science. We are really hoping for CPP to pull through. He is a 3.67 and an SAT of 1230. Any thoughts on if he has a shot. The waiting is killing both of us.
@alk2000 I have no idea these days. I thought UCR was a safe school for my son who had a 3.86 1230 SAT for ME and he was waitlisted there and denied at UCI and UCD. So I thought this too would be a safe school but I really have no clue anymore. Crossing our fingers we are getting in here. Havent seen the school yet so we need to get up there to tour if we hear soon. Otherwise given the deadlines of what SDSU is asking for deicsions need to be made by mid April in order to meet deadlines with transcripts and AP test scores.
@Bean981 Since final decisions came out April 2 last year, that means tomorrow we should all get our decisions right?
@collegegal77 there’s no guarantee they’ll let us all know tomorrow… it might take until possibly the 15th
This waiting game is exhausting. Hope we all get admitted and move on! Lol
I really hope we hear soon. This is my last hope. I got rejected from every UC and all cal states except Sonoma. My gpa isn’t awful but it’s not the standard these days it’s around a 3.4-3.5. Had a lot of family issues my sophomore year causing a low 3.0. If I don’t get in here, community college here I come
@mgh516 Why not TAG into a UC for next Fall? Community colleges aren’t all that bad. If you go to Santa Monica CC or a feeder CC you can transfer in to a good UC program/major. Stay hopeful!
I’m hoping @collegegal77 but of course as others have said there is no guarantee! Good luck all.
I hope you’ll all post your decision, stats, major, and geographical area (an admissions rep told me they can release by area sometimes) as soon as you hear. That way we’ll have an idea of what’s coming out. Thanks and good luck to everyone waiting for a decision!
Hate to add to the anxiety but a few people I know had to wait until May last year (these were transfer students, one of which had a 3.9)
@SoCalGal2017 I’m planning to go to smc. Everyone from my hs goes there that’s what makes me not want to lol. I know they have the highest transfer rate in the state but it’s still hard to transfer .
I also heard the 15th. I think the admissions person actually said, “…by the 15th.” When I called again last Thursday, I was told, “… over the next 2 weeks.” I think they are giving rough estimates rather than hard and fast dates. Let’s hope Bean981 is closer the accurate and we hear today; or at least this week!
DS still waiting too! ME major.
Just called the admissions office … again! … They told me it that we could receive a decision as late as the END of April. She stressed that no decision at this time just means that no decision has been made. I asked in every way possible if we should assume that we will receive a denial if we haven’t heard by now or by mid-April. She insisted that decisions come out randomly and we shouldn’t assume anything. She also said that we should feel free to go ahead and accept admission elsewhere because we could always change our mind if we are admitted to Cal Poly. We would of course, forfeit any deposit we pay elsewhere. I think this would only be necessary if we are worried about missing out on housing or anything that is “first-come, first-served.” Just passing along what I’ve been told. I’m new at this; not an expert. This waiting has been very difficult and stressful. I have found a distraction by looking at colleges where my son has been accepted and getting excited about them should be not get an admission to CPP. This might work for you too. I’ve read posts where many of you have said CPP is your 1st choice or your last hope. Focus on your other choices or your local CC. It will not be the end of the world. I’m not at all saying to give up; just look at your positive choices. Whatever happens, it will work out if you make it. Just passing along what has helped me! Good luck!
