Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

Thought I would start a thread for fall 2018 transfer hopefuls to post.

My stats are:
Major: Public Health
GPA: 3.6
AA-T/AS-T: No, but will have my AS in allied health and AS in life sciences
Prereqs: All completed by end of spring
Golden 4: complete w all A’s
SD Area: nope, Bay Area

Haven’t seen any stats on people getting in for public health major. It seems like only those with an AA-T from non-SD area get in. Hopefully public health is more lenient…?

I’m optimistic about SDSU

My stats are :
Major: Graphic Design
GPA: 3:35 for now
AA-T/AS-T: they don’t have for major
Prerequisite: all will be completed by end of spring
Golden 4: All completed 3 A’s 1 B
SD Area: no, Bay Area

I’m attending DeAnza College and also applied to CSULA, CSULB, SFSU and LMU. Haven’t heard or seen many people transferring in graphic design.

Hey, this is my story
So I’m an international freshman at NYIT, a semi-decent school, I guess. And after really thinking about it, I realized I could definitely go to a better school, and why not, even an Ivy league.
Stats
Major:
Electrical and Computer Engineering
SAT
1250 (will retake it, took at the beginning of junior year, and still then I could have done better)
HS GPA: 3.8
Toefl= 96(Took it in junior year, my English is 1000x better now, so I expect to get a 120 when I retake it)
College GPA: don´t know yet, it seems it will be about 3.7, maybe a little higher
ECs=IEEE member, Ran my own business, have 20k followers on a facebook page, IEEExtreme: placed first in the North East US region, music band produced legit independent movies, micromouse competition(yet to participate, hopefully, I place high, I think there should be some Ivy league schools team in that competition). I have a lot of little projects here and there, like web pages, and bots, I’m not really sure how to include them. Java OCA 8 certified

Minority, so probably affirmative action stuff.
I could make a case of how I have undergone a personal transformation recently(had serious behavior issues in the past), I guess that’s good for Essays.
Languages: Chinese and Spanish totally fluently.

Also, I want to transfer because I do not feel happy in my school, feels like everyone is there because of their families could not afford a better school or didn’t do anything in high school.

Would really appreciate if you guys could tell me if it is reasonable to apply to an Ivy league, and if not where I should be looking at.

@GamboaDd27: You have posted on the San Diego State University Thread.

My stats are :
Major: Accounting
GPA: 3.79
AA-T/AS-T: I’ll have my AA in Business Admin and Accounting but not for Transfer
Prerequisite: will be completed by Spring 2018
Golden 4: 3/4 A’s currently taking the last one.
SD Area: Yes, from Southwestern College

I’ve also applied to San Marcos and I’m still deciding on my third option but so far SDSU is my top priority.

Major: International Security and Conflict Resolution with an emphasis in environment and security
GPA: 3.56 currently
AA-T: Not doing an AA for transfer but will have an AA in an unrelated subject
Prerequisite: These will all be completed by spring
Golden 4: Completed 1, the rest will be done during the spring
SD Area: Yes, I’m taking classes at miramar and mesa

This is the only school im applying to this year. if you guys have any feedback let me know!

I submitted my app the third day that the app was open. SDSU is my #1 choice right now. I have 1 “w” on my transcript.

hey! I have Ws on my transcript and everyone i spoke with at sdsu and at my college all said Ws do not matter for transfer students. They will see it but they said it will have no negative impact on ur grade. I was pretty stressed about it so if you are at all concerned, dont worry.

Oops I said grade but I meant it won’t have an affect on you getting admitted.
