Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

@Vaneeters
I got an email thats I was admitted a few days ago. Just letting people know so that they could anticipate an email;) Good luck to everyone!!

@ugh4145 You will most likely be send an email about your admissiom status. Good luck:)

Oh, i got u @Minie20. The same thing happened when I applied as a freshman 2 years ago, either your gonna get an email saying to check your status and nothing more (which is probaly a denial). or it’ll say u got in.

I got denied by SDSU and all they said were “After carefully reviewing your application, we are unable to offer you admission for the fall 2018 semester. Admission to SDSU is highly competitive and this year we received over 93,000 applications for 8,500 undergraduate enrollment spaces.”

My major is Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 3.86
Completed the Golden 4, Major Requirements & IGETC to be done by the Spring.
I don’t know why I was rejected… but I’m so upset. :frowning:

Oh, I applied to SDSD, UCSD, and the two Cal Poly

P.S: I’m local here in SD for years and transferring from SDCCD college.

@bakaneko1223
You have high marks, Hopefully u plan to appeal because you are more than qualified and are local.
Did u completed most of your requirements?
It sucks that many qualified applicants are not given admissions. Good luck with your other schools:)

@Vaneeters
Exactly, you’ll get an email saying congratz class of 2020 or an email saying to check your status of app, which could either mean you were denied or given a chance to waitlist.

@alliot
I really think you should appeal if you really are considering sdsu. A friend of mine easily got into her engineering major at UCI as a tag applicant. Her gpa was a bit lower than yours, 3.6, so dont lose hope. I’m UCI will accept you. Keeps us updated:)

@cbrowne123 @LAgal00 still waiting on CSUSM here. “Completed Application” on the portal

Hmm the plot thickens, so CSAC the California student aid commission just emailed my for a verification for stating San Diego State sent it a school change for me…and I have been award aid at sdsu…So I go to aidlink for sdsu and check and it shows I’ve been awarded, but yet I have been denied…this is weird…anyone eles that got denied see this?

@Sdnightclubemt
That’s super weird. Maybe contacting admissions directly could be a better option. I was admitted a few days ago and the only thing on aidlink is funding for this summer. I think we’ll hear about financial aid awards around mid-March maybe April, just a guess. Contact admissions and ask!!!

Nothing for me still, Business Finance. Just tell me already SDSU so I can move on.

Anyone from SDSU IV campus? Does anyone know when they release IV campus admissions?

Has anyone from the general business concentration heard back?

Accepted a few days ago
Major: International Business concentration in French and Western Europe
GPA: 3.1
AA-T: Yes, Business and Economics
Prerequisite: Completed in Spring '18
Golden 4: Done
Local: No, Santa Barbara
Other schools: CSULB (Denied), CSUF (Pending), CSUCI (accepted)

Honestly I thought I was going to get denied. But I don’t think the GPA requirements are as high for IB, because everyone I knew who applied with just Bus have higher GPAs than me but they’re still pending/denied already.

I talked with someone in admissions office and she said they got a record amount of applications this year, 93,000!! and she mentioned something like and 7000 spots. so I’m going to guess this is why so many are being denied… we’re about an hour away, my son’s status is still pending but he’s a transfer, will have 3 A.A-Ts by May. So I’m hoping no news is good news. Hes got 3.6 /History major.

I still haven’t heard back and it’s messing with my sanity and anxiety levels :confused:

I’m still pending too and I’m freaking out about it now

Have any other COMS majors been heard back yet?? after reading all of these I’m scared I didn’t get in. And I’m from the Bay Area so that doesn’t help me one bit

Major: Communications
GPA: 3.6
AA: Spring 2018
Golden 4: Done

Hey guys so I spoke to admissions about an hour ago. Im not sure if guys are on the same boat as me, but I applied as getting an associates degree for transfer in communications, it turns out since SDSU’s deadline for verification of the ADT is March 15, those of us who applied as getting an associates for our major won’t be hearing back till the last week of March :frowning:

This is true of people transferring with an AA-T including myself, we will not hear back till the last week of March-First week of April. The anxiety filled wait must continue…
