If you guys don’t know what happened last year with UCI.
They mess up on admitting way too many freshmen applicants and tried rescinding their applications. It went viral, therefore, they had to readmit all 500 applicants back.
This year, the freshmen forum has no news of admittance yet. UCI supposed to let out all decisions for freshmen applicants by the end of March. It is now the 15th well going towards the 16th…
I have a feeling UCI will definitely send out admissions for freshmen next Monday. Perhaps, they might even push out some notifications to some transfer students as well. Keep checking the portal guys! Good luck to everyone, if Irvine is your first choice!
My friend who applied to Calpoly Pomona just got acceptance. Where are you now, UCI?

freshman apps started rolling out on March 1, one of my friends already got in
I applied under BizEcon (TAG) with a 3.92 GPA (B in calc I) and i’m currently taking microecon and calc II this spring semester. If i end up with a C in calc II, would my acceptance be rescinded?
UCI’s bizecon transfer requirements state “Complete two semesters/two quarters of approved first-year calculus with a grade of B or better”
my spring GPA would be 3.0 and my overall GPA would be 3.8. Would a C in calc II get me rescinded because of the bizecon requirements?
I am wondering the same thing! I applied under Econ and I have the same prereqs as Biz Econ so I really hope they don’t rescind
How many did TAG for UCI?
@riceball123 I did! Also I keep trying to log onto my portal but it won’t let me lol, I don’t think it’s releasing today but I think the amount of people trying to get on is crashing.
@gonewiththeair do you feel anxious too? Haha I think I memorized the TAG requirements by now because I double checked so many times if I’m still TAG eligible
Also, Ucla and UCSD released admissions a couple hours ago so freshmen are checking if Irvine is updating too
Apparently there were 116,000 UCI applicants this year, 96k are freshmen and the rest are transfers
@riceball123 ah me too!! I’m worried though that for some reason I’ll still end up not getting in even though I meet all of the TAG requirements.
Also oh wow that’s a lot, there were so many applications this year!
@gonewiththeair i also looked up admissions guarantee meant just for assurance haha
My portal isn’t working for UCI
Portal is still down but I’m guessing the servers are just overloaded.
Guys I got my first rejection today
I wonder if a batch of non-TAG also comes out today?
From Pepperdine my letter says they got 12,100 applicants but had room for 800. That’s about a 7% acceptance rate @roohafzahmami101 @riceball123
