Fall 2018

Hey everyone! I’m going into my third year of CC (with only electives and math requirement left). I’m trying to craft my schedule for this Fall but I wanted others opinions. I know it’s different at every school and I’m not looking for the “easiest”. I’m just looking for some kind of guidance over electives.

I’m taking a Saturday morning math class this semester along with a mandatory study aid after. I already know Saturday morning classes has a reputation for being bad but hear me out: it would save a bunch on gas. And I found out that with math (my worst subject) I work best working on it for multiple hours on one day rather than breaking it up.

I’m also signed up for American Cinema, Theater Appreciation, and Women in America History. All are online. These were electives that I picked because I finally have the chance to take whatever I want.

I’m either going to major in English or Psychology when I transfer. I’ve taken three English classes and three psychology classes over the semesters yet I still haven’t decided. So I wanted to use my last few semesters to really figure out my interests.

I wanted to take Astronomy in the fall because I’ve always been interested in it but here’s the thing: I already have my science credits done and it isn’t really my best subject. So I can either take that or some of the more “liberal arts/science” classes.

Here are some classes I was thinking about, please any opinion will help! Besides math everything is free range!

ENG:
WOMEN WRITERS ON THE EXPERIENCE OF WOMEN
INTRO TO POETRY
SHAKESPEARE
AMERICAN AND/OR BRITISH AND/OR WORLD LITERATURE

PSYCHOLOGY:
CHILD GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
SOCIAL PSYCH
PSYCH OF PERSONALITY
PSYCH OF SEXUALITY
ADOLESCENT PSYCH
MULTICULTURAL PSYCH
INDUSTRIAL/ORGANIZATION PSYCH

I’ve taken Intro to Psych, Honors Life Span, and Abnormal Psych

For English I took College Comp 1/Honors 2, Children and Adolescent Literature, and Mythology (my favorite class not only this semester but my whole college career).

So yeah, any opinions? Those are about the only other classes in the department. I’m interested in so many that I can’t decide. And my counselor told me any I want. Thanks!

I think it’s a good choice. Good luck.
