Hi everyone! I’m literally stressing myself to the point of premature hair loss about transfer apps. Yale is basically impossible, but I’m going to try– my cousin graduated from Yale and begged me to apply, so this is to appease her because I know the chances are slim with the 3% acceptance. Here are my stats

AWARDS
Regent’s Distinguished Scholar (2nd best merit scholarship)

My best letter of ref is coming from a professor last semester that basically encouraged me to transfer, and I know it will be a strong letter. The second is from another professor, but won’t be as strong. My essays are very well-written and clearly convey my reasons for transferring; I’m sure they are compelling, as my writing scores are typically A+'s.

Here are the other schools I am applying to (in no order):
Barnard
NYU
Brown
Columbia
Georgetown
George Washington University
American University
Penn

Does anyone know how much weight is placed on the Mid Term Report?

Good luck to everyone applying !

I feel a bit late to this thread, but I also applied as a transfer to Yale for Fall 2019. I’m not sure how much weight is placed on the Mid Term Report…

A girl in the Class of 2023 got rescinded after Operation Varsity Blues, probably won’t open any spots for transfer but I thought it was interesting!

Applied to Yale as a junior from a CC. Not hoping for anything to be honest, but you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

@twows99 Me too; I applied to Yale as a junior from CC. I wish you the best!

Apparently they take < 3% of applicants. Pretty much a crapshoot but oh well. Wish you the best of luck as well!

Does anyone have any idea when interview requests would go out (if they haven’t already)?

I sent my SAT scores through College Board over a month ago and also last week, but it shows that Yale still has not received them. Does anyone know if this the correct way or if there is a better way to send SAT scores to Yale?

Hi!! I just received a request for an interview. Have any of you heard back?

@glassturtle Did you apply freshman year?

@grundeis I did not!! Did you?

Heard nothing back yet…

I think receiving an interview is a very positive message. I assume interviews are selective for transfers. Congrats!

@bubblemaker hey thank you so much!! we’ll see how it goes, i’m excited!!

@glassturtle Interviews for Yale are 100% selective it says that in their FAQ section on the website, so congrats!!

I did apply last year yes.
